View Full Version : The Sick Environmentalist
The antihero

A friend of mine sent me this link (http://www.abc.net.au/science/planetslayer/greenhouse_calc.htm).
At first I thought it was a parody of extreme environmentalism, but apparently it is not. This is really a calculator that tells you how young you should die to save Mother Earth.
This is really sick. Even more so because it seems to be something thought for children.
And parameters seem to be strict to boot. I don't even drive a car anymore and, according to them, I should have died at 18.4 regardless.
It appears I should have died at age 5.... :D
The publisher of the test certainly has an agenda, doesn't he?

This CO2 nonsense is really starting to get irritating.
Do these modern-day druids actually think the C02 process through, beginning to end?
(never mind the evidence that higher temperatures cause higher CO2 levels, not vice versa)
When people eat meat, they get carbon from the animal.
The animal got the carbon, ultimately, from a plant.
The plant got the carbon from...the atmosphere.
The "fossil fuels" used to fuel our economy and agriculture...
If you believe hydrocarbons (and coal) came from biological detritus...
(FWIW, the Russian-Ukrainian theory of oil disputes this)
Where did all of that biological detritus get the carbon?
The atmosphere.
What happens to plants when CO2 levels are higher?
They grow faster and larger.
(Which pulls more CO2 out of the atmosphere)
One wonders how the planet has survived to this point in history without liberals caring so much for it.
<edit>
A little info on the whole CO2 thing: http://www.oism.org/pproject/GWReview_OISM300.pdf
Admittedly, it's not on par with al gore's stuff.
6.7 years old! Out-frickin-standing. I'm beating the odds!
This is asinine, at best. For kicks, afterwards, I clicked up a bunch of high-rated items. The picture turned to a bloated, gnarly-toothed, greasy, smelly pig.

I found this post helpful in explaining the insanity environmentalism has slid into. They are serious and cannot be taken casually because they have so many useful idiots in power in the political sphere.

The site is rather interesting as an example of propaganda, though. In this case, I do not use the term "propaganda" as negative, but rather as a general term.
For example, most people would probably prefer the "cute little pig" to the "big ugly pig". That sort of visual imagery is, I suspect, used to influence behavior (and maybe patterns of thought?) among the young audience.

Maybe we could get the envirowhackos to just run off a cliff, like lemmings, and remove at least their numbers from the planet?

My lifestyle--according to the calculator--is sustainable for the duration of my natural life. Moderation is the key IMO. The biggest hit for me was the CO2 generated from my flying miles...which ain't gonnna change 'cause I ain't walking or swimming wherever there may be and back again. :)
