Does ANYONE know why its taking guard guys so long to start the Q after SFAS? I was selected in Jan and I was told I have to wait 120 days (a SWCS issue) to start the Q. Any help with shortening this wait time would be bueno. Later

What did your training NCO or Ops NCO or SGM tell you the reason was?

If you're not initial entry, it takes 120ish days to get your packet approved, according to our training det guy. I think it has to do with it being federal $$$. I can get you MD's contact info, if you want to confirm, or have more questions.

First of all congrats for making it through SFAS.

Secondly, be patient oh young one. As you know and has been mentioned here in this thread, different pot of monies. The mob for training packet is just slow and cumbersome.

Yes you are eager to get started and no one can blame you for that but unfortunately that is the guard going to an active duty course system for the moment.

Nonetheless good luck to you. I do know that there are some good guys working on trying to streamline the process so hopefully those after you will wait less. Cross your fingers and be sure to give the new SFAS candidates advice after your journey is complete!

Take care.

I meant more along the lines of are you stationed on a base or are you back at home doing 1 weekend a month?

I sat at home and nursed my injury from SFAS.

I am definitely not active or NG, but I would put my money on the Line that calls for Mother Army requirements take precidence over NG. After all, MA is trying to wean itself from the NG deployment issue for Political Reasons.

As we that have BTDT know, use this "Off Time" wisely and improve on your conditioning, both physical and mental!!!

Take care.
