For those of you who had the honor of meeting her I ask. What was she like? Was she just like this in the video?

I ask this because my memory of her on television is a little blurred:munchin

I definately remember this one though and never would of thought that he was prophetic.

That was NOTHING compared to what she was like in person!!!!

I first met her in Nha Trang, in the NCO Club during a USO Floor Show. ................Long story.

I saw her, at a Theater In The Round performance in Houston (mid 1970s), and I sent a few pics that I had of her, from RVN, backstage. She sent the waitress out to me, and she was a great deal flustered when she told my parents, my wife and myself "Tell him to get his FUCKING ASS BACK HERE NOW!!!:D We went backstage and she hung a MASSIVE Liplock on me and then she allowed me to introduce the family. During the show, she made a point to acknowlege me on several occasions, it was quite embarrassing, but THAT WAS MAGGIE!! I saw her for many years at SOAR and she always remembered the first time we met. She was a VERY close friend of Our Community.

Later.

I have some pictures with her from 1971 when she was visiting Ft Bragg that I should dig up. Like 'bush said, she was way more rowdy in person. Loud, swore like a sailor and as Bob Hope said when she was younger, had the best legs in Hollywood. I only saw her a couple of times but rarely saw her out of the burst radius of a bottle of vodka...

Saw Maggie in December 1968. Lost of jokes and she did enjoy a drink....she really did have a warm spot in her heart for SF.

I met her on a tour in Panama. Early 70's I think. She was roudy and could drink any 3 of us under the table. She was very funny lady. She loved SF and everyone in SF who knew her loved her to.

I was there also. It was 5th Group Activation Day. I saw her lay a big lip lock on the Group Commander (COL Durst). She had a canteen on each hip which I was told later contained scotch and vodka. I was there mainly as a clean up detail so did not get much of a chance to get pictures or observe her to any extent.

Beautiful lady!

The first time I saw Martha was after a large op, lV Corps (Delta) 1966, we had a ton of wounded, our dispensary was swamped, there was blood everywhere, and I was carrying a wounded crewmember in for Triage.

I saw a female wearing jungle fatigues on the floor cleaning up the blood and guts with a sponge, she didn't look Vietnamese, but she was so covered in blood that I couldn't place her. That evening Martha showed up at the SF club, and proceeded to drink a bunch of the guys under the table. I spoke with her and thanked her for her efforts that day, she blew it off, she was happy to be able to help.

I loved that Lady!

And she was like that!

I met Maggie in Jan '72 at Reynolds Army Hospital, Ft Sill, OK. She was there visiting for something or other and found out there were 6 SF guys in the hospital. She told her escorts to F*** Off and came looking for all of us. I was in the dental clinic when she intoduced herself to me, gave me a handshake and a kiss, told me she loved all of us Sweet MFers, and left after a couple of minutes of chit-chat and well wishes. The legs at the hospital didn't know what to think and I'll never forget her. She had an amazing presence. :)

I have heard that while visiting remote A-Camps, she went out under fire to treat the wounded and drug them to cover, both US and Indig, during assaults on the compounds!!! I also heard at SOAR, from someone in her presence, that they remembered seeing her crawl out to an MG Position under fire, manned it, and engaged the enemy!!!

She was a Major in the AR and was a Nurse!!

Incredible Lady!! It was always a delight to sit around a table at SOAR and just listen to her and "Frenchy" chat, NEVER A DULL MOMENT!!!

Take care.
