28th National Veterans Wheelchair Games - Omaha

The 28th National Veterans Wheelchair Games will be held in Omaha, Nebraska at the Qwest Center Omaha on July 25 - 29, 2008. The Department of Veterans Affairs and the Paralyzed Veterans of America present these games each year for veterans with disabilities.

Attendees come from across the United States, as well as Puerto Rico and Great Britain, and range from WWII era to those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The events include swimming, table tennis, weightlifting, basketball, bowling, and others and will take place @ Qwest Center, NW High School, UNO, and Thunderbowl and Mockingbird Bowling facilities and the HD Zoo.

This is the largest wheelchair sports event in the world and attracts more than 500 athletes. To make this happen, between 2,000 and 3,000 volunteers are needed and the Patriot Guard Riders and Families United have been asked to help!
