Clark AB, Philippines:

While smoking a cigarrette and leaning with my left shoulder against the fence behind the hangar I was surrounded by RA soldiers preparing for a joint training excercise. I was approaced by one of their NCO's who seemed to be quite aggitated.

"Dude, WTF is your weapon?" He asked in an angry tone thinking that I was one their soldiers.

I quickly replied "Oh, I gave it to some Phil... He said he'd watch it for me."

As I watched his face turn bright red and saw the veins bulge out on his forehead I donned my beret and walked away.

LOL

You know that soldier is going to become the SGM of the Army and he's never going to forget.......;)

Another funny weapon story, I was assigned to SOCCENT for Desert Shield/Storm. One day I went to a small PX located next to an military post office (mail room).

While I waited for another SF'er to come out of the PX I watched an "Airman" draggin bag after bag of mail out of the post office. At one point this guy leans his M-16 on the side of his vehicle and goes to get another bag of mail. At which point I go and get his M-16 and wait.

Young man returns and all the sudden realizes his weapon is missing! About the time he's about to have a breakdown someone points to me and tells him I may have his weapon. I was not leaning against the building and my SF patch was clearly visible;).

I'm not sure what bothered him more, his missing weapon or the fact he had to come to me to ask for it back.;)
