ALL:

The Vets for Freedom organization is putting together an event in Washington D.C. on April 8th. The purpose is to lobby congress members in order to maintain support and funding for the missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. Vets for Freedom held a similar event last September. I participated and encourage each of you to consider participating in the coming event this April.

There are several very good reasons to go: The entire event is free of charge. The Vets for Freedom organization covers airfare, hotel stay and food. In fact, during the last event, we had breakfast on the South Lawn of the White House. We also had the opportunity to attend several private speeches: notable speakers included congressmen Jim Marshall and Brian Baird, and General Jack Keane. Also, the opportunity to meet your congress members and relate your experiences and perspective is incredibly fulfilling. Finally, it is thrilling to be surrounding by a large number of veterans representing a broad spectrum of ages whom are once again motivated to complete a specific (albeit atypical) mission.

The Vets for Freedom website has plenty of information about the event available here (http://www.vetsforfreedom.com/heroestour/voth_signup.aspx). I summarized my participation last September here (http://educatedsoldier.blogspot.com/2007/11/my-disappointment.html). If you would like any additional information, please feel free to contact me via any means including email.

I am in no way affiliated with the Vets for Freedom organization, other than to be a big supporter. I am also an avid follower of this forum. I hope that you all see this as nobly intended and not simply an attempt to spam.

I greatly appreciate your time
