The 14.1khz tone matches my tinnitus dead on. My wife was finally able to hear what I hear all the time.

So riddle me this...

Once said ringtone that adults above age X is heard by the "sneaky" kid, I have two additional questions...

1. How small is the phone that the adult can't see? (if texting)

2. What sort of training does the kid need in order to speak at the same frequency for the adult not to hear that?

I could hear all of them except 17.7 and 22.4 - I'm guessing that means I've got some sort of "loss" in those bandwidths? I've always thought my hearing was hyper-sensitive too. I'm sort of feeling sorry for myself right now. :boohoo

I used to get highly irritated when I settled down for the night and the dogs would finally get settled......then it would start.....the infernal sound of mosquitos buzzing around my ears.........I used to get up and turn the light on to try and smash the bastards....the dogs were looking at the crazy woman running around the room with a rolled up piece of paper wondering why I was smacking the walls (my husband just figured I had finally lost it completely, he never heard the damn things, he is deaf as a doornail). I hate that sound!!!!!:mad:

Oh yeah, that's going to work well in the knife shop with heaters, compressor, grinders or variable speed mill running. No problem, never have to answer the phone again.

I couldn't hear anything on 16, 17, 18 but could get a tone on 17.4.
All others I could get some tone.
