I am just looking at whats out there and trying to learn from everyones experiences. I am looking to put together a SOP for my team and all the gear list I find are OEF/OIF orientated. This is for a JCET. I know there are a lot of details needed to make a through gear list, but I am looking for a typical load out & individual gear list. I would appreciate all the help I can get on this matter. Thanks .

Look at your mission, the climate, possible support you'll recieve in country, or items you can buy on the ecomomy and bring everything else you think you might need. Better to have it then wish you had it.

Ditto to everything Crispy said.
But will add: You have to support the mission but you also have to make sure your training element, you guys, is/are supported.
You can get a light vehicle bridge built for a 50 pound sack of rice in some parts of the world but it takes forever for the locals to cut down a hard wood tree with hand hatchets. By day three the 18Cs were wishing for a chain saw.
Look at where you will be based. Fixed site or in the bush? Power? Reliable? Black out periods? Need to bring your own? How much will you need? 5 kw or 10 kw?
So you need to be able to set up house and then train the locals.

Might be easier if you told us how you were organized and equipped, if it is not sensitive info. What do you have to pick from?
First, METT-TC analysis.
Mission? Identified deficiencies from the site survey? Attachments? Assigned equiment? OPFUNDs? Availability of local purchase? Lift assets/load limitations?
You might also do some searching here, since this is a fairly common question.
We do not know your TDA, or how you operate. You may be SOF, but are not SF, regardless of what you may have been told.

Shawn,
The Marines have their own niche and attempting to be SF is not in the picture!!
If you want to be SF, just cut to the chase and go for an 18 Slot!!
Take care

Thanks everyone for the replies so far... Heres what we got...
We will be training in the bush with some paramilitary forces focusing on just basic infantry skills. We are taking two Yamaha generators (however alot of the teams have had some issues with these) for power. We will be staying in steel uni-huts for living quarters and one large one for a COC. There is also a pavalion area for classes. There is no hardwire yet, however I have bought all the necessary materials to wire the huts/classroom/COC with outlets and lights. I am planning on 1 outlet and light per living quarters (6 total) and 3 outlets and lights in both the COC and classroom.
I am planning on putting the living quarters on 1 15 amp circuit and then the COC and classroom both on seperate 15 amp circuits for a total of 3 circuits.
In the COC I want to be able to power 2 tough books, promixa, coffee maker, phone charger and the Comm gear.
Classroom will run a 2 lights, a promixa and a tough book. We are going to do most of our classes with powerpoint (printed flip charts are our backup).
Living quarters are going to have 1 outlet and 1 light per so that we can charger our cellphones at night.
We don't have any attachments.
We have about $30,000 for our OPFUND in country and also a OPFUND of $23,000 for mission prep for OPRs and etc. Which a lot of the $23,000 is already spent.
As far as local purchase what some of the teams who have gone to this location have done is set up a contractor that basically provides them with whatever they request. I see the benefits in that but I don't really want to go that route because I want to be able to get out and talk to the locals, get to know the merchants personally, build rapport and get to know the area and people.
Our team set-up is a lot like a ODAs. We have a Maj for OIC, Capt. for AOIC, GySgt for a TM Sgt, 1 Navy Corpsman & and 1 Marine that is training in the Medical field, 2 Comm Sgts, 2 Wpns Sgts, Suppose to have 2 Eng Sgts, however I am the only one on the Team (hardly any team at MSOAG is TO). As far as the Intel side of the house, the AOIC is primarily responsible and I am also helping with that. After our first mission we are sending guys to the secret squire program to get level 2.
I hope that helps a little on describing my situation. I am trying to soak up as much information as I can so thank you for all your replies.

Ambush Master...
Thanks for the advice...however it isn't that easy. I am already getting my ass chewed for talking about getting out and giving it a shot.

I don't think you have to get out.
I have seen a number of Marines go to SFAS and get selected, branch transfer, and go through the SFQC.

This command will not let you cross deck... no way in heck. I am trying to keep a low profile suck up as many schools as I can, because if they think I am not staying they wont send me to any schools, so to even bring it up that you want to isn't a good idea, because 1. they will just say no and 2. your chances for schools just went to shit..
...In the COC I want to be able to power 2 tough books, promixa, coffee maker, phone charger and the Comm gear....Living quarters are going to have 1 outlet and 1 light per so that we can charger our cellphones at night. .....
Coffee Pot? Better not be one of those wimpy 12 cup pots or Gunny will have your butt for breakfast. Get one of those 40 cup steel mega perk pots. Power draw is not that much more. Mine made many a trip and the guys knew where to find a hot cup of coffee.
Get with the others and see what they require for their classes, see what the command group requires, double check house keeping requirements, add in personal gear and then your unit SOP required gear.
You have to figure what you need to do the mission and then how to handle it. Weapons, ammo, demo supplies, if you take them will all have to be stored and secured if you're not using them.
Just relax, sit down with everybody, make lists, check the lists, find duplications, get it together and drive on.
Edited to add: A 12 cup pot fills 4 canteen cups 2/3s full and has a teacup's worth of coffee left in the pot. Keep Gunny and the CO happy, get a bigger pot.

Pete,
Thank you for the reply. I will look into the coffee pot your talking about...you can never go wrong with some hot coffee in the morning. As far as our Unit Gear SOP...thats kind of the problem...it sucks...bad. Whoever wrote it basically pulled out their OIF gear list and copy & pasted it to a work document. I did find a lot of good information in another thread about packing list for individuals that The Reaper had posted. A lot people think we are trying to be SF, we're not. I once heard this saying, "a fool learns from his mistakes, a wise man learns from the mistakes of others". I am trying to learn as much as I can from SF because SF has a huge amount of experience with JCET & FID missions, so instead of making the same mistakes someone else may have made before I am here trying to better myself and my team for these missions. Thank you once again Pete for the reply.
When people travel with bigger groups they tend to rely on services.
When you travel in small company (-) groups you have to take care of everything.
Laundry? Available or do your own? If you do it yourself will you be doing it in a river? Crocs, I hate crocs, they like to pop up at bad times - better take some plastic pans and laundry soap, I hated Omo.
See what I mean? To go off by yourself means tons of planning based on the mission, your location and what you need to train and live.
Relax - take a deep breath - think through your days - make lists of what needs to be done and what you need to do it with. Everybody needs to do that. Then combine and scrub the lists, take what you can, buy what you can there.
If you don't have it but need it improvise.

How much can you bring and how often will you be resupplied with each Class of supply?
How much local contracting can you do?
Are you on a secure facility, with secure storage?

we are contracting drivers w/ vehicles, cellphones, laundry service & hygiene water. As far a a secure location, yes and no. W
what I mean by that is that at the being yes, because we will be doing a some of the class room time on one of their compounds outside the capital city, however when we go to do live fire training that will be done at a unsecured site. So as far as ASP is concerned we are going to build one at the training range & use 1 of the uni-huts for logistical storage.
as far as resupply, there is none. We are taking 8 palcons & 4 air force pallets. 2 for ammo & 2 for the palcons and conteco boxes. Everyone is taking 2 conteco boxes per and one parachute bag.
Reaper/Pete if you want I can email you our what we have gear wise, I have it in a excel document and you can give me your recommendations.

T&T - Have you read MtnGoat's thread about deployment lists? I get the feeling you're re-inventing the wheel. (I also think you're going to run out of pallet space.) Have you done a site survey and good mission analysis to determine if any of this is available in theater? Or if it's really required?

I got a majority of it from MtnGoat's list. This isn't necessarily what I will be taking down range. Just a list of tools to have to be able to take downrange....

This is not the first time we have asked you if someone did a site survey.
Has anyone been there yet? Is there no PDSS checklist or Lessons Learned/AAR?
What is the availability of hardware in your AO?
BTW, take plenty of padlocks and make sure you keep all of your tools locked up under double security, unless they are expendable and you do not need them.

Might want to look this guy or his unit up.
Talks about tool/engineer boxes and the equipment.
http://www.lejeune.usmc.mil/mces/MAGTF/mccoe1/Engineer%20Kits/NewToolsRec.pdf
Nice thing about the military box - everything fits.
Notice he is talking about squad equipment so this is X 10.
This would not be team level but more like available at the company level, issued out to a team based based on mission requirments.

Yes we had a PDSS in September. That list isn't a list of gear I am taking down range for this mission, it is a list of gear to have on hand to be able to take down range should the mission call for it. I understand the fact that mission will dictate what goes and what stays and that mission will also dictate quantities to take also. As I mentioned before I am trying to come up with a list of gear to keep here and draw from as necessary.

OK - That makes a little more sense. I hope the USMC is more lenient about "excess property" than they used to be. A lot of what you've listed are expendables - not worth hoarding in CONUS and usually available OCONUS (the locals have to build stuff too). If the local infrastructure exists it makes a lot more sense to carry a rucksack of cash than it does to waste pallet space and transport cost/effort on stuff you can buy on the local economy. Concentrate on tools, particularly power tools (and ways to secure them). That's what's hard to get downrange. The right tools make you more efficient. You (and your team members) have more important things to do with your time. Basic handtools are a dime a dozen in most places. Labor is cheap, they can afford the extra effort.
I'm the Senior Charlie on my team and been though multiple JCETS, JCS, and two combat rotations. I've flown on Mil and Commerical air for JCETS. To me it all comes down to how much space do you have, type of mission, length of mission, availabiltiy of OPFUND, items that can be purchased for OPFUND. That comes from your PDSS, IPC, and FPC.
JCETS and JCS can be a pain in the ass especially dealing with weapons, ammo, sim ammo and hazmat regardless of mil air or commerical air.
There's things that you must have and there's things that are nice to have but not really required. Factor in all the other MOS's and type of JCET, you see that space really is a premium.
Without knowning what your JCET is, it's hard to answer if your engineer box has enough materials. For example, gorilla glue is the shit and I would bring lots more. Your demo bag is lacking, I would plus it up and make a better breacher bag. But if you're not doing demo or don't have access to demo, then that's sufficient (usually teaching demo in JCET's is tough to get approved)
Most JCET's and JCS, usually are heavy on weapons, shooting, tactics, MDMP, air ops (fast rope) and medical stuff. I've only done one demo JCET and that was very limited to what we could teach to our counterparts.
You say you're going to build a ASP. Why didn't someone contract that work out on the IPC? You could have checked the status during the MPC, and would have had final word on the FPC. I contracted out ASPs, shooting stands, barriers, and other things that I needed so when I hit the ground it's all there already built.
I would purchase or rent a local generator or compressor and save mine for a back up (unless the gas is good to go). Most third world countries have shitty gas and you'll fuck your shit up.
Regardless of whether or not you're running generators or running off a power grid, bring some step down converters (3000 watts) and power strips. Otherwise you'll blow your high wattage stuff like you're coffee pot and microwave, Xbox, and PS3 (hint remember OHM's law).
If you have a OPFUND, I'd make sure I got a scanner, and a copier for all the SF44' . Otherwise you'll have a bitch trying to find a copier or scanner to clear your OPFUND.
Without more specific info on type of JCET,s it's hard to tell what you need.
