Saw this on Book TV and picked it up. It chronicles the change in American culture from a time when children aspired to be adults (pre-1940s-1950s), to the present, when frequently adults aspire to be child-like, the ideas that allowed this change to occur, and the consequences of this change, including embracing the idea that right and wrong are grey areas, western civilization is evil, etcetera.
I've only read the first chapter, and skimmed some of the later chapters, but so far the book is very well put together, with good citations and examples to back up the authors arguments.
