To the men I hope to one day call Brother,

This is a cadence that was written while a young soldier was going to basic at Ft. Benning, GA.

Somewhere there's a plane
Droppin' men from the sky
These are U.S. Soldiers
Trained to fight prepared to die
Drive on American Soldier
We need your Bravery
Guardians of Freedom
Allow our children Liberty

Somewhere there's a mother
She's cryin' for her son
He's a U.S. Soldier
Fightin' in the desert sun
Oh momma don't you cry
Don't shed many tears
He's a U.S. Soldier
Fightin' proud for many years

Somewhere there's a father
He's as proud as he can be
His son's a U.S. Soldier
Who looks alot like me
Oh daddy don't you cry
Don't shed many tears
He's a U.S. Soldier
Fightin' proud for many years

Somewhere there's a girl
She's cryin' for her man
He's a U.S. Soldier
Fightin' in the desert sand
Oh darlin' don't you cry
Don't show sympathy
He's a U.S. Soldier
He's as bad as he can be

Somewhere there's a child
Who wants their daddy back home
He's a U.S. Soldier
And his life is not his own
Oh baby don't you cry
Dry your eyes and understand
He's a U.S. Soldier
He's a faithful fightin' man

Got a letter in the mail
This is how it read
I regret to inform you
A U.S. Soldier is dead
He fought for his country
He died valiantly
While you shed your tears
The USA is still free

Somewhere there's a town
Layin' a Soldier to rest
He was a U.S. Soldier
Who gave his all, gave his best
Oh people don't you cry
Don't show any pain
He was a U.S. Soldier
And his death was not in vain

So now do you see
Why we do what we do
Not for praise and glory
But for people just like you
And now USA
When you pass a Soldier's grave
He framed the Land of the Free
He built the Home of the Brave

I would like to extend a special thank you to you QP's who fight the battles that no one sees. Who protect the freedoms that are taken for granted. Who shed your blood in ways unromantic. Vigilant and true do you stand on guard. And in the darkest shadows, withstand opression's bombard.
