Red Herring?
Wonder what members think about this appearance on a national television show.

I am not questioning the comments of the CIA person nor the argument about the use of “torture”.
It seems very strange that a former member of CIA, now retired, can go on national television and discuss sources, methods, success, detainees by name with vivid pictures, results of “integration”, actually admit waterboarding and the use to which the information was put.
What happened to the disclosure of operatives’ names?
What about the secrecy agreements?
I do not believe that he just went to ABC news without the blessing of CIA, DNI or higher.
Something does not smell right here.

I am not surprised and it reaffirms for most of us why we trusted each other but never those from OGAs. The crap we used to have to go through just to meet our own intell requirements and not bruise their egos or step to hard on their toes has left a bad taste for many of us.

Clowns In Action? Piss on them. While some have done good things most are equal to or below our normal opinion of them.

Thank you for your replies.
Sir, your response confirms for me an opinion held for some time. My experience with OGAs was only tangential but it also has left a bad taste for me.
It will be interesting to follow this story and the other CIA dramas of the day like destroyed tapes.
Again my appreciation to all for your candor.

You're getting soft in your dotage. :D That's the first time I've heard you "sugar coat" a universally held opinion.

Have you and Chuck been talking again? My normally easy going husband with the "whatever it takes for the good of SF" attitude has a severe problem with many of the clowns in action. State Dept might rank lower with him but not by much.

Trust me, my opinion of State is even lower than Chuck's. And yes, they even rank below the clowns. They are an embedded liberal organization that will actually do harm to the military mission if they think they can gain some diplomatic coup. They will place a soldier or unit under investigation if they think it will further their agenda.
Nope can't think of anything that is redemptive about career "staties" from Foggy Bottom.
And yes, as Chuck knows, I have been hit with both situations.
