View Full Version : Harsey custom question ?
Mr. Harsey,
For the benefit of the Nordic people lurking here,
I can imagine you have your hands full with your work and this might be a stupid question, but would it be possible to manufacture a Harsey made knife that is in the Finnish puukko style and what would be the approximate cost for such a knife.
The thing is that we do have a variety of excellent knives made locally, but an American made, quality knife with different blade materials would probably have some small sales.

Tuukko,
I'm trying to talk my Puukko expert into joining here. He's prior United States military service and very knowledgeable in the history and making of knives in your tradition.
More to follow.

Tuukka,
I will second that one!
Always been a fan of the Puukko.
Have enjoyed the few I have come across and would look forward to seeing that come about.
Any experience with the Ranger Puukko?

I remember reading something on a Russian version... smersha?
I will look forward to hearing more in the future.
Bill,
Thank you for taking the time to look into this matter,
trailrunner,
the Ranger ( or Sissi puukko in Finnish ) puukko was / is quite a common sight on the belts, but I just had a traditional Finnish puukko and a Leatherman with me, so I really havent used the Ranger puukko that much, but from what I recall it really isnt the best for wood work / whittling kindling. I can ask around from friends who have used it more.

Thanks for the info Tuukka. I have heard they were popular. Would welcome any 1st hand user info on how it performs and is working out.
Would also welcome any pics or thoughts on you traditional Finnish puukko. I have been considering one for a while and even a combo with the larger Leuku.
