Why not? It's better than the POS we have now isn't it?

Do Marines have the Beretta?

IIRC, the M-9 is the issue sidearm, quite a few 1911 variants scattered around the Corps, and more being procured.

I cannot believe that they would take the Glock and the oddball round of Gaston's.

I checked the date of the article to make sure that is wasn't April 1st.

This would be a very big surprise to me.

This seems appropriate.

"GIs carrying 1911s defeated Axis forces, including Austrians. The 1911 was winning battles and saving lives before Gaston Glock was even born - somewhere along the way we probably figured out a thing or two on combat handguns." –Larry Vickers

And Larry usually knows what he is talking about.

Even though he works for H&K now.

Keep in mind that David Crane is an idiot...

Quite of few of his 'articles' have been RTFO.

Yeah, well I don't know Mr. Crane, but I find this hard to believe.

I think somebody needs to tell the USMC, they don't seem to know that they're getting new bullet launchers.:D

Now you folks need to understand international relations. We got the Berretta to secure landing rights in Italy, perhaps we have a deal with Austria for CooCoo Clocks and Chocolate or maybe even box seats for their New Year's Day concert. Hopefully our State Department is not making any deals with the Vatican or the Marines might be getting some of those niffty breast plates from the Swiss Guard.:D
