Demo Committee. They march to the beat of a different drummer....

The DNC looks like a 2 year old has pulled out the pots and pans for another lengthy session of loud obnoxious banging.

I'd also say that they march to the beat of a different drummer. This drummer just doesn't realize that his drum lacks the leather drum head to beat on.

I give them too much credit, I know.

I'd normally say that 'sound bites' can be a bit of a misrepresentation, but I'd reconsider that opinion for Hillary's sake.

New Zealand has had a prime minister that is very left wing and scarcely similar to Hillary, Helen Clarke.

She's in her record equalling third term. 12 years baby (we have no limit in New Zealand.)

These are some of the bills she has passed with a (just) majority parliament.
1. Legalisation of Prostitution
2. Dropping of the alcohol age to 18
3. Legalization of gay marriage
4. And the best one is making spanking of your child illegal, best of all the majority of the public were against it in almost all respected pools, and she still pushed it thru. Let's all stand and applaud that display of representative government.

(An anti-spanking bill (AB 755) proposed by California State Assembly member Sally Lieber was stopped in the Assembly Appropriations committee on Friday, June 1st 2007.)

Social Engineering is a bloody scary thing and I think that's exactly what both Hillary, Helen, (And Sally) have in mind.

Just my 2c worth

Interesting quiz; I got most of them, though I admit I missed two.

Isn't it odd, though, that Hillary has some wealthy supporters. What do they know that guides their decision? I suspect the real targets for the new taxes will be the middle class - of course, that isn't something any politician would dare utter.

I also suspect that developments in the subprime and adjustable rate mortgage markets will play into her hands. The rate of resets hits maximum in January, 2008 - so the impact will be felt along about May-June. Her rhetoric may resonant with large numbers of voters at that time.

Ms. Clinton will, I think, be elected. She will be a particularly bad president.

(Let's hope I'm wrong. I don't want her to be elected; I do, however, expect her to win.)

1981-1989 - George H. W. Bush, VPOTUS
1989-1993 - George H. W. Bush, POTUS
1993-2001 - William J. Clinton, POTUS
2001-2009 - George W. Bush, POTUS
2009-2013 (or 2017) - Hillary Rodham Clinton, POTUS?

Is America reverting to a monarchy led by two families for potentially 36 years?

Hillary is only running as a centrist to get elected. You let her be POTUS with control of both houses of Congress, that may be the end of the free United States as we know it, and the beginning of a socialist, nambyist, oppressive police state that would make Lenin proud. Anyone want to see Janet Reno, Sandy Berger, and the like back in charge?

There is a pretty solid argument concerning the formation of a American political "royalty" (for lack of a better term). With politics becoming a family trade and the associated name recognition those families at whatever level tend to be where your so-called representation comes from.

It's actually been longer than 36 years.

We've had, and will continue to have, a political monarchy in this country.......the Kennedy's.

Had not Joe Jr. bought it in the air over Europe, he most certainly would have been POTUS in the 60's. Instead, John is "moved" into that position, and had not Bobby been shot in 68', he most certainly would have been in the WH. Then with all the others filling Senate and Congressional seats, they have a "Blood tie" to one another.

You can even argue, that the Kennedy's were "pulling" W.J. Clinton's strings while he and his wife were in office.

IMO, the Bush clan, is here to counter the Kennedy/Clinton monarchy. More power to 'em, I say.
