The moose population is bouncing back real nice north of Rocky Mountain National Park. This guy, figger he's a juvenille @ 2 years old, and his buddy were out scouting for some female meese's. (what else would a young male moose be doin??) He stopped on this trail not 60m in front of me, and stared at me for almost 10 seconds. If I had a moose tag, we'd be having moose steaks, but no such luck, so thought I'd pass it along. This pic was taken off a hanging lake, (don';t remember the name) just west and 300ft higher than Joe Wright Reservoir in the western Poudre canyon.

Good to see! The moose are all over Wycolo and north into medicine bow. Good to see they are continuing to move south. If you were west of Joe then you must have been in Rawah Wilderness area. Tough terrain. You are still an animal if you are hunting that area.

There's a few running around the Park (Rocky Mountain National Park), IIRC. I remember seeing on one of the news channels around here, this past spring, of film of a Momma and her calf, by some water's edge, just inside the East gate. Good to see them moving down.

BTW Doug........did you bag anything? :D

I bagged a hell of a hangover the next morning! hee hee!!! These days my hunting is with my camera. I get just as big a thrill just being in the woods, and actually seeing the critters and how close I can get to them as back in the day when I hunted. enjoy!!
