Quiet Professional (Finally) :D

Been one hell of a long road for you J, congrats. You're the epitome of Never Quit. May the hand of God protect you both near and far...always.

There are quite a few older guys going thru the pipeline right now so dont let your age alone stop you, it sure is not going to stop me. I am in my prime...or atleast thats what they are telling me here...

Today marked the end of a 1095 day journey (without recycle) through the SFQC. I want to openly extend a very heartfelt thank you to all those who have answered questions, listened to me bitch, encouraged me, and to those as well who have watched in earnest as I stepped out of my comfy fire station recliner on 26 May 2004 when I left for OSUT. I cant say I have enjoyed all of my time at SWTG(A) however I did learn more about myself and my capabilities than I ever thought I could have. I have met men who are now as much of my family as any blood relative could ever be.

Before coming to Bragg I would've never thought there could be a bond tighter than that which is formed in a Firehouse, and while those bonds are strong, nothing I have witnessed to date can compare with the bonds I have made with the guys I have trained with and the guys (Quiet Professionals found here) that I have sought advice from and been counseled by when I have stepped on my crank.

To the guys in the course behind me; stay the fight. It is worth every k under the tick; every cold, hot, hungry, or lonely night laying in an ambush line when you are shaking the hands of the SF soldiers who have gone before you who are welcoming you to the Regiment. For me it was yesterday when I donned the Green Beret for the first time and was welcomed into the "Brotherhood" by many of the Quiet Professionals on this site, either in person or over the phone, thank you.

Thank you all!

Finally indeed.

We got to watch my newest Brother don his beret for the first(official) time - took him to the GB for his first drink as an SF Medic, took him for a rare piece of steak, and then watch him actually cross the stage and receive his Yarborough. Congrats my Brother, it was an honor to be there to see you begin your journey, and have Peregrino, MtnGoat and SF18C help welcome you to your new family. If you need anything, call, pm or e-mail.

Well done Brother.

All I had to do was fly across the country and drink a couple of beers in the heat and humility of Fatalville, Northmost Cackalackee - the boy spent 1095 days in the Q... I have 2 SF MOS's and I didn't spend that long in the course.
