A group of Special Forces and Special Operations Soldiers hopes to compete in the 2008 Primal Quest event. It is extreme Expedition Adventure Racing and slated as the most difficult race on the planet. I have attached some info on the Race for review.

The team is not sponsored by the Army. These are a group of Special Forces and Special Operations Soldiers who train and compete throughout the year in various adventure racing events. Many of the team members are currently deployed or slated for deployment between now and the race and continue their training down range.

They have come to the SFA for sponsorship. The expected cost for the competition is approximately $48,000 dollars. This covers the cost of registration and for equipment the team will need to compete. Of course some of the equipment will be used beyond the event for future competition.

The National Board has established a fund to raise money to sponsor the team. All funds collected will go to the team for registration and purchase of equipment. We hope to solicited fund from the membership and local business to support the teams’ efforts.

We hope the membership will get behind the team and raise/send donations to National specifically for this event.

As part of the SFA sponsoring team, the team has agreed to wear the Special Forces Name and SFA crest on their team uniforms.

This is another effort to provide support to the Active duty and to raise awareness of the Special Forces Association.

As always all contributions are taxes deductible. Receipts will be provided on all contributions over $250 and as requested.

Training for adventure racing, while also training for war? Damn, they gotta be studs (and single).

Thats THE race on the adventure racing calender now after the demise of the Raid and the downgrading of the Southern Traverse from a multi-day race to a single 24 hour race..

Good luck...its a hell of a race but well worth the experince and competition!
