Special forces trainee found dead in toilet
BANTING: A 21-year-old Royal Malaysian Air Force special forces trainee, awaiting release from the commando training programme, was found dead in a toilet at the Sungai Pelek Training Camp in Sepang.
Police are investigating the death of K. Yogeswaran after wounds were found on his body.
His grief-stricken family has also lodged a police report at the Kuala Langat police station here.
Family members have found the explanation by RMAF officials hard to accept.
Relatives who went to reclaim the airman's body at the Banting Hos-pital morgue found Yogeswaran had a cut on the head and wounds on the abdomen, back and foot. His clothes were spotted with earth and grass.
The family was told that another trainee found the airman lying dead on the floor at about 7am on Saturday.
The post-mortem has revealed blunt force trauma to his head and pus in his lungs besides other minor injuries on his body.
Yogeswaran’s remains were ta-ken to his hometown in Taman Mutiara Cempaka in Batu Kawan, Penang, for the funeral.
His father, K. Kanan, 43, said his son had made a “mistake” joining the RMAF.
“I suspect foul play as my son was a healthy and energetic man,” said the lorry driver when met at the family home yesterday.
