View Full Version : Special Forces Belt Buckle
I am looking to buy a SF belt buckle that was sold in the PX at Devens in the 1980s. It is a western style circular buckle with dagger and crossed arrows affixed in the center. The buckle is silver and the SF emblem is gold tone. If it isn't for sale, I'd like to get a good picture. You can see it (barely) on the inside back cover of the ORVIS Men's Catalogue - Late Summer 2007. Any help would be appreciated. PM? Thanks.

They may have them at the JFK museum or the Airborne museum in Fayetteville.
This is what I'm looking for, sorry about the small picture

I would check with the SF Museum Gift Shop, the SFA Store, Ebay, and anybody stationed in Korea.
Good luck.

SP5IC, since TR brought up Korea...I have a friend in the Army stationed there although he is not SF. However, if anyone can provide some additional guidance (ie: possible places to check out etc) I'd be happy to see if he would be able to assist.
Chapter 4/24 sells these.

Got one for sale? I have a loaner, so I may need to go into business.

SP5IC-
If you get them made, I will buy one - I haven't seen one since they got pulled out of the PX at Ft Devo - they weren't selling fast enough for AAFEES.
Came across a new SF belt buckle a couple weeks ago while poking around in a site I have gotten a few things from through the years. In the past I would Google for SF belt buckles from time to time. Well, more like once a year or so. Anyway, when I came across this, I Googled SF belt buckles and found this old thread.
I've had the belt for about a month now. It is well made, easy to fit and adjust. I thought I would get one and then be able to switch out different belts. However..... that will be more difficult than I thought. The belt does attach to the buckle like the military belt. The difference is how it (buckles). It works on a ratchet type system or like flex cuffs or cable ties. Except easy to release. That black strip in the picture on the site is ribbed, the ribs slanted. The buckle grabs the ridges and the button on the bottom releases them. Soooooo... it doesn't work like the friction deal on the military type buckle. It does offer a great range of adjustability. Should be great after Thanksgiving or Xmas dinner. :D

I had 25 made and gave most away; however, I ordered 100 more and sold them to Myk Scott. He peddled them at SFA events, and sold the rest to the SF Museum bookstore. Last month he ordered 50 more. He is currently a patient at the VAMC in Richmond, Virginia. The buckles are scheduled to be here in early January. If you want one, let me know, and I pass this on to Scotty.

Is the "loaner" the brass one in the picture, the one available in January??
If so, I'd be interested..
What is the dia?? looks about 2 1/2 inch??

Actually, the loaner came from Mike Parks. He stepped on it soon after he bought it 20 years ago(?). It was in great shape and needed a new tang on the back. I'll post to this list when the shipment comes in from India.

Just came onto this thread.
Attached are pictures of the belt buckle that you seem to be talking about:D. I think I got it at Fort Lewis before I retired... but haven't seen them since.
If you do get a handle on the availability of more of these buckles... I'd be interested in getting another one. This one was my favorite... but I decided to stop wearing it because I was afraid of wearing it out:).
Hope the pictures help.
Mark,, Bump for an update?? :D
While we're waiting. :munchin
I did a search for that belt I found at priorservice.com a couple months ago and that was the only site that had it available. However.... I was looking through the JFK museum site and came across it there. If interested, that is the best place to purchase the belt. Not to mention it is 5 bucks less there. http://www.jfkwebstore.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=179
Hope these are close to coming out :munchin
I have 50 at my feet. As soon as I get them to Scotty in Fredericksburg, I'll let all of you know. For the record, I won't have anything to do with the selling, mailing, insuring, etc., that is Scotty's deal. I sold them to him for what I paid to have them made.

Hopefully you have socks, or boots on, and mine does not arrive smelling like Toe Rot...lol :munchin

Actually, I am. It was this photo in an Orvis catalogue that started to whole deal. I pinged a number of different SF sites, and found a relatively new buckle from a comrade in Illinois. I found a brass dealer in NC, drove down there, cut a deal and he had 25 made for me. I gave them to teammates, and other SF friends. One of my SF friends wanted to go into business selling them. I am retired and said "No f*cking way," but I ordered 100 for him. I don't know where they went, but he was peddling them in Harrisburg in 08. The original 25 cost me about $5.00, the second 100 were $5.71 each. The last 50 were $6.26 each. When I sent them to my friends, the postage and confirmation was about $2.70 plus a 6" X 9" plastic bubble mailer. Never sold one, never will. Free to teammates and close SF friends.
I have this old one from the 1970's, it's simple and it was cheap (I seem to recall paying $2~$3 for it at a shop on Yadkin Road).
I think it is sand cast. No name, no logo.
Probably kimchee.
