COl. Coleman was a relentless warrior who put his troops first. I had the privilege of serving under him in Afghanistan. MY prayers got out to his wife and family.

A very principled and level-headed leader who always tried to do what was right by the Army and every single member of his command. He gave his commanders the freedom to command and worked to give us as much freedom of action as possible. When less-than-popular decisions/COAs were ultimately forced upon him from higher, he manned up and made those decisions/COAs his own, and through his quiet and firm example saw to it that they were executed. He never, ever grandstanded, but I knew that he fought for us.

You were a great boss, Sir. Would have gladly served under you downrange again. Your loss is a loss not only to your loved ones, but to 20th SFG(A) and the Regiment.
