Its sad but true. The defeatist attitude of the media sickens me to no end.

Could the U.S. public get their mind around 10,000 casualties on a single day?
Maybe I'm selling them short, they did seem to get over 3,000 deaths in a single day fairly quickly.
Everyone wants instant gratification. Every resolution has to be quick, i.e resolved in the time of a two hour movie. World Wide Web, cell phones, e-mail and cable TV with a dozen constant running News channels. Everything visual and quick. Blood and gore in High-Definition.
Back in the early 1940's, the quickest news was radio, and the fastest (and only)communication to a loved one in the service was the US Mail.
Could D-Day have even been pulled off if the Nazis would have had satellite and quick commo, in addition to news reporters embedded everywhere reporting every move?
Think about it!
