In case anyone missed this, this happen this passed weekend at a minor league game.

The manager gets ejected and then....well let's just say, for a FOG, his low crawl is pretty good. :D

We used to have the same type of entertainment with a certain manager of the Cincinnati Reds a while back.

Now's he's up in your neighborhood. (SDIVER):p

That was great. The low-crawl to the mound and toss of the rosin bag grenade was classic. Never seen that one before. Gotta give him an A+ for originality.

John Sibol on ESPN radio on Monday said that he thought it was disrespectful to Soldiers.

I'm a soldier and thought the grown-up fit with high crawl culminated with a perfect grenade toss to the Umpire's feet was the funniest thing I'd seen since George Brett went nuts about 25 years ago.

Wow, one part of me says thats one of the funniest things I've ever seen. The other part (former umpire) feels sorry for the ump. I hated having to deal with people like that...

My stepddad was a minor league umpire. He said a lot of times these things are staged, and the manager tells the ump before hand that he's going to "lose it" to fire up the team.

He said sometimes the guy is actually screaming about the weather, NASCAR, or anything but baseball. This was also mentioned by an umpire who called a talk show I listen to :)

Go Braves!

I guess you learn something new everyday. That must be a pretty fun job if you would get to see stuff like that every once in a while. :-)

Razor. I was hoping someone would say that. While hilarious, I can't help but thinking that if my son and I were at that game, that a long talk about sportsmanship would be required afterward. I'm a rec football coach, and our teams have had a long standing tradition of no individual achievment awards, stickers on helmets, game balls, or boo-hooing for that matter. Win lose or draw, hold your head high and shake the other guys' hand and tell him "good game." <period>
