Beautiful tribute videos. May those that gave their full measure rest in peace, and may the rest of us never, ever forget...and live our lives in a manner worthy of such sacrifices.
I just had the opportunity to spend a few hours visiting with the wounded troops in the orthopedic wing at Brooke Army Medical Center. I drove down after lunch with 35 phone cards (125 min/each) to hand out and to say "Thank you." I must say, this is something that I've been wanting to do since the visitation discussions here around Christmas, but have never spent time in a hospital and was quite nervous, so I kept putting it off.
Today, I decided to man up, get over myself, and go show these Heroes how much I appreciated them. The guys down there were great! Ended up spending most of my time talking with 3 soldiers, two of which were injured in Iraq (IDE and Chinese mine), and the third got hurt on his last day in Guatemala (Engineer of some sort). We got to talk about everything from hunting, to how long they'd been in and what their plans afterward were. I heard several times that their medical care was first rate, and the support from the Army was outstanding (the SFAC even set up hunting and fishing trips for these guys!).
They seemed to genuinely appreciate the visit and the cards (even though most of the guys had cell phones). I had a great time and was very blessed to have had to opportunity. Thank you, Soldiers, for everything that you do for us.

Nice gesture, and I am sure that they have buddies overseas that can use the cards. Little things go long ways.
V/R,
I went to the AZ National Cemetery at 6:30 this morning to help install the Flags. I didn't realize there are 46,000+ interments over 225 acres. It doesn't seem that large from the outside. I was happy to see the turnout, mostly Boy Scouts. I was in the back quadrant where most are from WWII. I wondered how many were part of D-Day.
Thanks.
