Your son is in my prayers, anything you need, just call.

All-
Please see what you can do to help the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society beat these diseases - they have come a long way in treatments, but it sure would be nice to find a cure. I'm not sailing in the Leukemia Cup Regatta this year, due to a recent move, but next year I would love to garner support and donations from the board in RL's son's behalf. I've been involved in this for about 6 years now, and personally have over that time raised over $10,000 - last year was a great year - about $3,500 after matching. I now have another reason to redouble my efforts...

Other things we can all do to help - donate blood if at all possible, get on the marrow donor's list, volunteer at a Children's Hospital, donate toys and time - we never know when something like this will strike one of our own, actually, yes, we do now.

RL - Mine and my family's prayers are with you. Your announcement took me back 54 years ago when I was in your son's place and my parents were told that I had Leukemia. Just a light touch and my skin would turn black. Thank God it was a misdiagnosis and not Leukemia, but an allergic reaction to one of the new sulfa drugs. I still spent 6+ months in Baylor Hospital, Dallas Texas under the observation of the very fine staff of the Wadlee Blood Research Institute. 32 units of whole blood and a spleenectomy later I was fine. Fight the good fight - we're all behind you on this one. God Bless!

Disease in those who you love is hard, yet it can, in my experience, also bring out the greatest efforts and proofs of caring. If allowed, the love will purify further and later the bonds will be stronger. That is something that never will be lost, and life has become a richer.

Dear Ben

At night I light candles for people and say a little prayer for them. I have a candle with your name on it.

BUT, they are small candles and melt up after a few days, so then I buy new ones.

What color do you want your next candle to be? Pick any color you like.

I just installed a new feature on the blog called a "Buddy Map." It lets people put in their name, where they live and a little note of encouragement. It really cheers him up to see lots of people all over the world pulling for him, so I thought I'd ask everyone to sign the map for him with a little note of encouragement. He's back in the hospital, and this really brightens his day. Thanks again to everyone for all of the prayers and good thoughts.

Cool map! You can post your name, address and a short message!

I posted on Ben’s map that I was a "bad ass" Special Forces soldier and there was no one on this planet that could kick my ass including the Current UFC Heavyweight Champion; Randy Couture. (I then posted Harsey’s picture and address!:munchin)

TS, you are a meanie!! Quit picking on Mr. Harsey like that!!

RL and Ben,

Sorry I had not posted here before, this is actually the first time I have seen this thread. I posted to the Buddy map, and my best to you all. I know Ben will be happy to get home soon.

I dropped an email in to my pastor back in Fayette'nam and, as some others have probably done already, advised him of your son's situation, so he'll be adding the young man to the prayer list there.

He's on mine too. :)

Warmest Regards,

RL and Family,

Saw the news about the discharge last night, hope your little man settles in well and has a nice quiet place to rest now. He's surely got the power of hope and prayer, hopefully he can get some quiet time and maybe, just maybe a home cooked meal.

Seriously, congrats to you and your strong family for getting through this, Ben needed it, I'm almost sure you needed him more though.

Scott, I haven't been on posting on here very much, and I just saw this. I am so sorry, to hear about your son. I know there is nothing worse than seeing your little one in the hospital, with nothing you can do about it. If you need anything let me know and it will be on the way. All of you are in my prayers.

One of them is of us landing with out authorization and they are circling the plane with weapons.

I have another one of a bad landing that damaged the bathroom in the aircraft.

I have these other ones of flying next to some mountains.

Which ones does he want?

Stay safe.

We have these illegals that we are transporting back to South America. I can't remember which country it was this day however; take a look at the Home Land security person in the pic.:o

Not one person knew what it was however; I thought it was pretty cool so I snapped a picture.

Another morning as we are waiting on transporting the illegals to South American country, someone says...

"DOC! Take a shot of the moon and the sun together with your new 12.1meg camera."

Don't ask me which is the moon or the sun...I couldn't tell you.:o

Has Ben ever been to the Caribbean?
