Although it's a week behind us, the fight is on tonight on HBO at 10PM EST. (No PPV needed)
I'm an Oscar D fan and was sorry to see the split decision to Mayweather.
I cought some of the fight in Tivo and Mayweather does not perform as well as his mouth. This fight was supposed to bring back the "sport" in boxing and I believe Oscar D is the right guy with the class act and fan support to bring boxing back to it's limelight it once was before "chewing ears" was thought to be fancifull.
I'll be catching the entire fight. Again, it's HBO at 10PM EST without PPV needed.
De Lahoya was infinitely more fun to watch than Mayweather, but Mayweather did, indeed, get the better shots in, during the fight. De Lahoya threw a lot out, but they didn't seem very well thrown and very few seem to have landed, when watching the playbacks.
It seemed mostly like D chasing M around the ring. M would strike, get one in, and D would begin chasing him around the ring.
For hits, M definitely won.
For the pure sake of the sport of boxing, D had much more aggression...
De Lahoya was infinitely more fun to watch than Mayweather, ...
More fun...yep, but DL is a-hem leaps and bounds more "photogenic" than the others. Just my female .02 :D

I have to say I agree after viewing the entire 12 rounds last night. Oscar just looked like he was on the defense, tactically speaking, except for those few times when he had Mayweather against the ropes throwing multiple body punches, which I'm not certain really did any harm to Mayweather one way or the other. Mayweather punches thrown to blows hit percnetage was far greater than Oscars, even though from the TV you really cant tell if those blows are hitting or not.
The crowd response to Oscar was generally the telling tale as to his aggressivness even though I wasn't sure if the blows had landed or not sometimes. Mayweather was only stunned once that I remember and Oscar a couple of times. Even though neither seemed have taken anything beyond a slight chin shot that forced them back into defensive stance.
The crowd was the most telling. It's obvious that the Vegas crowd loved Oscar and it's telling that he has such a support system in the sport of boxing.
Decent fight overall, but not a great fight. I'd loved to have seen Mayweather get a sold hit to the chin and have gone down with a starry eyed look in his face. But, that's just me.

Oscar's wife is pretty photogenic too. Too bad they didn't show her in the crowd more.
(I can say those types of things, I dont have a wife standing over me peering at what I'm typing)
I'd have to agree. Not much actual boxing.. lots of hugging.. lots of chasing.. little boxing. :rolleyes:
As for Mrs. De Lahoya... My husband agrees with you. :D
