Local Man Sets Sea On Crusade For Veteran's Awareness
GRASSY KEY, Fla -- It is a one-man crusade and being that it is in the Florida Keys, it is unique.
Capt. Bill Sampsel, a veteran's advocate, is "set-to-sit" on a raft on the gulf side of the Florida Keys for the next month, saying he is going to bat for veterans then and now.
Many would call the idea crazy and free spirited, but Sampsel said he is just making a statement of the plight of America's war veterans.
Sampsel is a Vietnam veteran and genuine Florida Keys character who said he has fished the waters of Marathon for years. He is set to spend the next 30 days on a raft because he said he wants to make sure the veterans are not forgotten.
"I want to build a shelter and retreat that no one else has ever done," Sampsel said. "I'm pretty sure I can get the vets to come out of the woods and bridges and come here and let us get them help."

I thought I would pass this along. I think he has a great idea as far as building a special shelter for Vets, I know there are a great many down in South Florida. Too bad this story was only carried on a local channel.
