Just to follow the sticky, I don't have any background in medical or medicine. If you see me starting threads in this forum it's probably because I jacked myself up training and am looking for a little help on treatment to get back 100%. I do have an interest in physical training and supplementation, basically general health type kowledge found in publications like Men's Health, etc.

In December I strained my lower bicep doing straight bar curls, well I thought it was my bicep. After dealing with it a few months and having loss of strength whenever I throw a lot of left hooks I decided it was time to make an appointment. The doc didn’t seem too concerned with it and said that I have some tendonitis going on in my left arm. He gave me a prescription of Naproxen and Prednisone and scheduled me for some physical therapy.

Any of you guys’ had tendonitis issues in the past or have any tips in treating it? I’m applying Cryogel to the area as needed and wearing an elbow brace just to add some support. I’m avoiding pull ups and any other pull type motion that really puts a lot of stress on it. Damn, the last thing I need now before I ETS is some nagging injury.

Not a direct answer to your medical question, but make sure that you get everything wrong or broke with you thoroughly documented in your medical records, and plan on getting service connection for everything that you can. If your toe hurts one morning, go to sick call and get it written up.

Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

Good luck.

Thanks TR,

I know what you mean about that. My big toes haven't been the same since I've been in. Only 2 in growns on the right foot, but every 8 months or so the left one has to be cut and they tell me that they killed the root and I'll only have half a nail the rest of my life. Then it grows back. Other than that the med record is pretty clean, but I'm guessing another 20 years or so is going to be a different story.

You won't believe how much, even if you didn't spend 20 years jumping out of airplanes and humping heavy loads on your back.

Take care of your body. You only get one per lifetime.

i've got it in both elbows right now from doing tricep extensions. It's at the back of the elbow where the bone connects to the tricep. Everything I read doesn't sound good.

See, the thing about mine is that the pain is on the inside of the arm, running from the bottom of the bicep to the top of the forearm. I'll just take what they give me and take it as "easy" as I can afford to and hope it gets better.

I look at my father and can see that. 2 bad disks in his neck and three in his back; he has a hard time walking now at 65. He used to shake his head about my uncle (5th Group Vet) who is in really bad shape nowadays, but my dad's in the same boat now just from being a truck driver.

I'll never take Prednisone ever again. Monday I went to the doctor and he started me on a presciption of it along with Naproxen. By Friday night I started running a fever and here it is Sunday and I'm still fighting it, my throat is swollen, and I'm spitting up flem. Chills, sweats, tightness in my chest, and horrible insomnia. I just got back from the hospital a few hours ago and they told me that it lowered my immune system and I picked up a viral infection.

Get well soon. I was on a course of prednisone last year (damn that pill is bitter). Slipped on the stairs and got a tiny scrape on my ankle. I thought nothing of it until a couple of days later when my ankle ballooned up and I had ugly red lines on my lower leg where the infection had spread to my lymphatic system.

Thanks, I'm trying. I went in this morning and dropped leave for the rest of the week. I'm just going to lay low and try to shake it. The left side of my throat looks like it has it's own chin right now, but I'm starting to be able to eat a little again.
