Just a quick question gents. Can anyone tell me how to gain info on the engineers in the battle of Attu? My grandfather was there and I would like to find out what they did there. He was awarded a bronze star for that conflict and wouldn't tell why or how. Just wondering if anyone could shed any light on it. Thanks.

Are you familiar with Google?

I tried "battle Attu engineers" and got 23,500 hits.

Let us know when you are done with those and we will look for some more for you.

If you burn through all of that advised, try googling The Thousand-Mile War: World War II in Alaska and the Aleutians. It is a 456 page book that is a really in-depth account of the campaign. I first read it when doing research on my own grandfather (he died before I was born); he served in the Navy during the Aleutian Campaign.
