TS, I didn't realize you were still traveling on the "Information Dirt Road." :)
I've talked about paypal before...... they are NOT mandated to play by BANK or FEDERAL banking rules (the ones that are the guidelines for credit card use)...... They operate as they wish, outside of federal guidelines. Hence, I will not use the services of paypal. I may be walking down the "information dirt road", but I have no fear of an ambush. ;)
TS
Bill,
This is a beautiful knife, but it looks a bit different than the last "Reaper" I saw pictures of here (especially in size). What can you tell us about it?

I can certainly understand your motives, but I think that an online solution (maybe a future addition to PS.com?) for SF related transactions (e.g. flashlights, Leathermans, and raffles) would get more money in the SF piggy bank from those of us less-paper inclined. Also, those overseas.
All of this is IMHO, of course. I'll be sending a check... grudgingly :) Now, if I can only FIND that dinosaur contraption...
I'm in! With a it of help from Bill :D

Is there going to be a form in The Drop or the Chapter newsletters? I assume they are not going to mail the tickets out like for the Building Fund raffle.

No, I think it was Ken Brock that sent the toilet paper. When I saw who it was from I ensured it was not "used" toilet paper......(If I recall correctly he even spelled his last name wrong.)
For those that have not had the pleasure of meeting Mr Brock, just look up "southern redneck" and you'll see his picture. :D

That's terrific !
Congratulations, SF18C !
Well now…as my wife once told me,” I didn’t know it was so big!” :D
I must say that is one nice knife!
Okay let me back up a bit. I drove out to the SFA HQ at lunch today and met up with the Exec Director, Mel. He handed me the blade and told me that not all the totals were in yet but he estimates around $2000 raised with this raffle. That is great news right there. Of course Mel checked my SF Association status and was quick to remind me I was a bit behind in my dues…hey I was overseas for 5 years! In addition, I will pass on that there is a meeting at the SFA HQ this Saturday at 1330 hrs.
Now back to the knife, serial number #001, Reaper 7 model, with Mr. Harsey’s stamp and engraved initials on it. I can honestly say this is THE NICEST KNIFE I have ever held. It fits well in my hand, has a great handle and finish, plus it looks tough as all get out! Bill, what is the handle made from? It looks like some kind of Kevlar type material. I cannot wait to cut something with it. Even with its large size it still feels “agile” and ready to take on the toughest of jobs, it does not feel “heavy”. The sheath looks rugged and ready to stand the test of time and my general abusive treatment.
Bill,
I am in awe of your superior skills as a master knife maker. :lifter Consider me a customer for life, plus my wife wants to know if you make kitchen knives!
All,
Thanks for the nice messages and for all the PM’s enquiring about selling it…sorry, but this knife has found a home!

Yes, I have one, and IIRC, there is thread here about them.
You should try out the full-sized version of your knife. If you get over this way, and want to see it, let me know.:D We can keep that a secret from your wife, if you want.:D

It's a mini-reaper, really?
Can we see some photos of the knife with some items next to it that will show the size? Something common, like a quarter?

SF18C,
I never took a picture of the knife.
Maybe before you begin the destructive testing phase of ownership...
Roger...I plan to take some pics this weekend. I haven't done anything with it yet, other than shave some hair off my arm...isn't that the first thing you are suppose to do with a new knife?
