New scam about money from Iraq

Guys: Received this today. Somebody must have seen George Clooney's movie "Three Kings"! Here's the text:

My name is Sgt Gim Gonzalez, I am an American soldier, I am serving in the military of the 1st Armored Division in Iraq, as you know we are being attacked by insurgents everyday and car bombs. We managed to move funds belonging to Saddam Hussein’s family.
The total amount is US$25 Million dollars in cash, mostly 100 dollar bills. We want to move this money to you, so that you may invest it for us and keep our share for banking.

We will take 60%, my partner and I. You take the other 40%. No strings attached, just help us move it out of Iraq, Iraq is a war zone. We plan on using diplomatic courier and shipping the money out to you by using diplomatic immunity.

I really wish someone could trace this back to the 350 pound lard ass (probably sitting his parent's basement, wearing only his underwear ,chatting on $5000 computer with the screen name of 1SexyM@n) and beat the shit out of him and his buddies. Trying to use the US military as a means to scam a quick buck should warrent a public beating in front of the closest military headquarters building.

Man is that scam old! They just put a little twist on it and here come the suckers. Hell my father got typed (from typewriter not computer) letters in the mail 35 years ago with basically the same scam, only back then it was money from an diamond trader from Africa who died with no relatives or some such nonsense, and his "partner" was trying to get the millions out of Africa IIRC, I remember getting one of those type emails back in the mid 90's and having him tell me about getting it in the mail many years before.

I'm sure most of us continue to receive these scam emails and just today I got another one.... from an "American soldier".... this variation has been around awhile but basically links to a real story from 2003 on BBC website of found millions in Iraq. They need help getting the money- blah, blah, blah- you know the drill.

I've seen several sites that offer advice on baiting (knowing it's scam but wasting the other person's time/energy that you are a real victim. All this to crash the scammer's hopes and possibly get an account number that can be closed down). The idea it seems is to play with the scammer since law enforcement doesn't have the resources to keep up. True enough they'll continue- maybe death by papercuts?

My question is this- has anyone on this site done any 'baiting'? What precautions did you take? Any successes? Too small of a fish to fry?

I searched PS and didn't see any talk of doing that. Seemed with the right knowledge and time available on the computer a chance to do some mind ____ (fill in the blank).
