View Full Version : Mountain wave at 36,000
Kind of rare to see this type of foot print at FL360. Flight was Memphis to Spokane direct...I have never had a visual on this type of atmospheric disturbance in my 28 years of flying let alone mountain wave turbulence 300 miles east of Denver. The below overcast layer reached 28,000, and the unusual virga footprint extended up to FL 340.

Nice pic's!
There were times we would pull pitch in the Delta and fly over heavy fog, couldn't see the ground, cool as hell...We stayed low level, just on top of the fog!
Cool! Thanks for the pics.
I'm sure it has something to do with Global Warming.. ahem... just like the 12' of snow in Oswego, NY..

Definitely Lenticular!!
I grew up in Spo-kompton. Graduated from Shadle Park High in 1978. What about you?
I was sorry to read about the players from Gonzaga getting messed up with pot and 'shrooms. I hear the city of Spokane is in mourning over the incident - they love their Zags.
