In an effort to close the gap on a dwindling supply of dollars and a theatened budget, Illinois county wants to tax each bullet that is sold.

First, Illinois is the most gun hating state in America, with the exception of California. Does this mean they will support the purchase of firearms to support a surge in bullet sales ?? :D

Read for yourself, especially the the bottom where they have dubiously counted on $600,000,000 from military sales of ammunition.

NJ is my other target, just haven't gotten around to it yet. :lifter

Cook Co, Chicago is a NON-GUN zone, even owning a firearm in the county has deemed the owner possible jail time and confiscation of the firearm. Let alone in the city of Chicago !

Since owning a firearm in the county is discouraged, legally and morally, then why the tax on a bullet ? Last time I checked, it's damn hard to find any ammunition in the county, especially inside the city of Chicago. This simply does not possess any logic, other than to hinder what little sales of ammunition may exist.

In order to gain any real tax revenue from the sales of ammunition, then Cook Co would have to actually give the 2nd Amendment back to the people, allow for the right of concealed carry, and promote the creation of ranges and pistol training courses. This of course goes against every thing that the Mayor and his little sheep followers believe is moral.

If I wanted to avoid the tax on ammunition, then I'd simply travel outside of the county or order online ammunition from a reputable source. Of course then Cook Co would have to make it illegal to purchase ammunition anywhere but within the confines of the county line. Another unconstitutional law.

Cook County shortfalls in it's budget are due to lacky spending, and a liberal utopia mindset. Again proving that cow towing to the minorities and the welfare utopia are draining on the city budget. Next they'll be going to congress to ask for loans to pay their interest, and all existing loans will be forgiven. Robbing the tax payers again.

The bullet tax has been defeated by the County Board.
