Under H.B.218, I can carry again anywhere. I have decided to go with a 1911A1 as a carry gun. I want a "Plain Jane" model. I am considering two models as cost IS a factor (under $500).

1) R.I.A. 1911A1

or...

2) S.A. 1911A1 (Mil-Spec)

My instructor advised me that if I choose the .45 caliber in a 1911A1, I can only shoot 230gr., FMJ. I am not sure why, but I have to do as he says.

So, I need ANY advice, pearls of wisdom, trigger time, etc., etc. Also, thanks a head of time guys.:)

Certainly you would ask your "instructor" him why he told you only 230gr., FMJ.....and just curious why must you "do" as he says.

I was not aware H.B.218 stipulated any specific ammunition design.
