Well I'm dating a girl who's best friends father is ex-Special Forces, and he is my girlfriends God-father. So he said that if i ever bring her home late or touch (as in kiss) his God-daughter , he would find out then hunt me down and make me have an accident. You think this is probably a sincere and true threat? I'm kind of leaning towards the yes side on this one, but I thought i would get your opinions on this matter. Thank you for taking the time to read this thread and give your opinion, and have a good day.

This isn't the "Love Connection" or "Dr. Phil" Maybe some one on "MySpace" is better suited for juvenile questions.

And i was asking advice cause alot of the people on here are older and wiser than i am when it comes to things like this, where as myspace i would be asking some 15 yr old who has no knowledge about relationships and is pulling stuff out of his.... Yea you get the picture..
Also i may be a adreniline junkie but kissing her then telling him is even too far for me.

In for a penny in for a pound. If kissing her will get you killed than you might as well get your moneys worth.:p Stop being scared of your own shadow. The guy is yanking your chain.

It was nice of him to warn you. If he felt he needed to, I'm surprised you're still dating his God-daughter. Of course you were (????) enough to ask a Dr. Phil question on this board. I'm moving this thread to the appropriate forum. Then it's open season. :munchin Peregrino

I don't think you need to worry about him. He is after all, an ex-SF solider. He's NOT going to kill you or harm you in any way. No....what he's going to do is, make you PAY a weekly fee (ie. money) to him, so that he can keep his Beer and Knife collection up to speed.
Now if he said he was an ex-SEAL......then I'd be checking your brake lines on your car, if I where you. ;)
SD - Cute but you might want to check how many QPs on this site are either fathers, uncles, or Godfathers of young ladies. I don't believe extortion meets the obligations inherent in those relationships. We may have a few personal "shortcomings" but failing in a duty is not normally one of them. And - FWIW - ex is not the same as former. Let's all use a little more SA. Peregrino

He was yanking your chain, but I would think if you EVER hurt that girl I would stay the hell away just the same. I would say he is busting your balls but you do not appear to have any. :D

I put this thread in the comedy zone vs. throwing his rucksack in the hall because it's so bad, it's comical. Keep things in context. Let's not go ballistic when somebody gives a smart assed reply to a dumbassed question. Peregrino

TRYea i was thinking about that today. Because after reading posts on here for a while, I realized that he more than likely is posing. The reason i say that is, Who is or was SF, holds them selves with high regard and self control, and from the way they type thing, would never use SF in a manner such as this. They dont go flashing it around like a threat. Or even go bragging which is kind of the way he was saying it. So i would be impressed and intimidated. I am seeing her tomorrow after school. And am going to ask him if he can show me his beret, and if he can recite the SF Creed. Yes he could have bought the beret and memorized the creed. But im getting his first and last name and as it says in one of the stickies, this is a small community and somebody on here probably has heard of him if he really is legitimate.
Regardless of his SF status, you have to treat his daughter as you would expect your daughter to be treated.
I only have a son, but this is what he was taught.

You got the normal speech everyone hear's from a father who's daughter is dating. Regardless if he's blood or not.
I second what PSM said.

Rider-
I'm sure most of the QPs on this site know the SF Creed, but I bet most of us don't have it memorized (I am in this group, I could not recite the SF creed even under threat of death, oh - I'm going to get slammed for that revelation). If it looks like a poser, talks like a poser, and smells like a poser - well, generally, you have a poser.
Keep your honor, keep your integrity, do what is right and you'll get through anything.

Actually, I guess being there at the moment that he calls his potential Godfather-in-law a poser and discovers that he happens to be named Jakovenko or something like that and actually is a QP would be tremendously funny (for me) and would be a moment I would like to have on tape.

That would be humorous, rather bloody, but extremely humorous - a few other names would be Dix, Howard, or Gritz... Ah, to be the 18D on site for that!:munchin

The fact of the matter is, you have to treat the girl right no matter if her GF is SF or not. Does it really matter if this guy was SF ? Why do you need to know so badly? And if he is what then? You're not going to treat the girl any worse if he isn't so why the investigative questioning?

Bill, your daughter would have about 500 SF 'Uncles' watching over her, she'd be about the safest girl in Oregon.:D
Rider,
This is what you do guy:
First, trot down to Radio Shack and get a thingamajigge to record phone conversations. After you hook it up, call the God Dad up and tell him ----but make sure you get all of this out in one breath---that you two are pregnant.... And that you've decided to sort of travel around hitchhiking and ask if he wouldn't mind lending you two some money for a while, tell him you were thinking of staying at his place for a bit until the excitement died down, but tell him you can only eat steak or seafood -- but its got to be fresh. Let him know you like to sleep in and if thats a problem for him maybe he would be willing to pay rent for a while so you two could get things settled. Let him know that you support the idea of liberated women, and plan to take care of all of the household chores after the baby is born so your girlfriend can work.... Be sure to record all of this.
After he slams down the phone try and call him back to tell him you're only kidding, but would he mind loaning you some cash so you can take his god daughter out for a good time... Let us know what happens.

Two things we who have daughters do not want to hear is a young man mention the daughter and "good time" in the same sentence.

One of my few friends in every sense of the word and the epitome of the Special Forces soldier and that is SGM Jakovenko to you stud.

As a father of a 3 year old girl I hope never hear a young man refer to my daughter as a "good time". It might get ugly.;)

Rider-
A little friendly advice:
1. Apologize to COL Moroney, faster than a speeding bullet, for the breech of etiquette.
2. Do some research on the SGM, write a clear and concise report on why the SGM is a true "SF Stud" in every good sense of the word.
3. After doing both of the above items, hide for a while, read, but don't post in order to avoid the wrath of the QPs who hold SGM Jakovenko in very high regard.
As I said, this is only friendly advice, you are perfectly welcome to ignore it, although that would probably not be in your best interest if you want to remain a guest on this Board.
Have a very SF day.

Alright Guys, My apologies. This is what I get for succumbing to a Puckish impulse. I allowed it to continue so I'm fixing it.
The Rider - I sincerely hoped you would get a clue without having somebody take a sledgehammer to you. Obviously my (our) feeble attempt(s) at irony was a little too subtle for you. This has gone on long enough.
1. Nobody here cares about your love life. You've also stepped on your crank - with golf cleats. You don't appear to be astute enough to have gotten the hint.
2. You apparently don't understand the obligations inherent in the Godfather relationship. Any honorable man, be he QP or Casper Milquetoast, would express concern about the intentions/actions of a young man interested in his Goddaughter.
3. If dramatic effect (status and threat) keeps problems from happening, then it is effort well spent. If it doesn't, honor has been satisfied; you were warned.
4. If you're stupid enough to mess with a dog after he's growled a warning, you deserve to get bitten.
5. You need to improve your SA and figure out who we are and what this board is about. The impression you are leaving with the other members is very uncomplimentary.
Try lurking for a while until people forget about this thread.

SGM Jakovenko would never have had to say anything, he would only have had to look in your direction, once. ;)
