The first Muslim member of Congress says the solution to Iraq lies in an immediate withdrawal of military forces and focusing instead on political and diplomatic efforts.
The last time we cut and ran when things weren't going well for us was in Somalia circa 1993. OBL himself said that our retreat in the face of adversity only emboldened them.
If that is the case than why don't we just hand AQ their victory because it is just too difficult to deal with. Good Lord where do we find such idiots that are blind to histories lessons? I mean it is not like were asking this clown to remember the lessons learned from 60 years ago.

Gentlemen (and ladies) if you haven't figured out...we WILL be out of Iraq within 2 years and we will witness another "fall of Saigon"...

The left, the weak willed, the anti war people will force another pullout. And the MSM will report that we have lost another war...... I expect thousands to die as a result just as a couple of million did when we pulled out of Southeast Asia. And we as a nation will lose much..... trust in our national word, the belief by our enemies that we are weak, a re-energised and motivated enemy, and morale in our military; and the loss in resources we have expended to produce a positive result in the area.
The lesson of Vietnam is not lost........it was never learned or cared about by the left!

Koran—Bible—Torah, It makes no difference, the “cut and run” crowd is in and “feeling their oats”. They will do anything to get us out to include cutting funding. :(
It is a sad day in America that we give credibility and thought to polls on what the uninformed and apathetic masses are thinking.
Recent polls indicate over 85% of the American population can not name the Prime Minister of Iraq, much less his ethnicity, number of providences in Iraq or any number of factors—and this is who the “Cut and Run” crowd points to for “authority and expertise”. :mad:
I find it unbelievable this country ever found the backbone to fight the tyrants they have.
It is a sad day, and likely to be a sad year in this country.:(

The strength to fight tyrants came from average Americans who unselfishly altered their lives and livelihood by standing by their soldiers, supporting them, AND (dare I say this) true statesmen who had to make difficult and unpopular decisions for the greater good of this country and ultimately the world. They refused to be subjugated. Today there is more interest in the new “iPhone” than finding a solution and way ahead in Iraq in the minds of the average American.

I'm not sure of Mr. Ellson's background. But thinking back on the movement of the Nation of Islam here in the US and the anti-US sentiments that eminate out of certain states with high Muslim populations (don't want to get into a NIMBY argument).
I'd imagine Mr. Ellison was elected by a large faction of folks who have a vested interest in the US not succeeding in OIF and considering where he was elected.........
......... are you surprised?

I didn’t realize Mr Murtha, Ms Pelosi, Mr Reid and company were Muslims…
They keep shouting their message from the pulpit (pun intended) and claim “Christian” as their religion.
My experience shows that cowardice favors no religion, only the spineless.

Ellison is not a Muslim. He is a member of the Nation of Islam, which despite its name is not a Muslim sect. It is a racist cult which makes Scientologists look like Presbyterians.

I would be surprised if 85% of the American population could name the Prime Minister of Great Britain. And I am pretty sure 85% couldn't name the Prime Minister of Australia or Canada or Japan. Or the Chancellor of Germany or President of Russia. Or perhaps any foreign leader. But that is trivia.

Perhaps I put too much faith in our warriors, GreenSalsa. I do believe, however, that if there is any hope for this nation, it lies with those who have sacrificed by serving in our armed forces--LT Watada excluded, of course.

Agree totally.
However I don't think his views are based upon cowardice, rather just plain old conflict of interest.
