Email I received from a reliable source. The phone numbers that were in all the headers checked out so I'm going under the assumption that it's legit. Better safe than sorry.

UPS Uniforms

Government Warning regarding purchase of UPS uniforms:
There has been a huge purchase, $32,000 worth, of United Parcel Service (UPS) uniforms on eBay over the last 30 days. This could represent a serious threat as bogus drivers(terrorists) can drop off anything to anyone with deadly consequences! If you have ANY questions when a UPS driver appears at your door they should be able to furnish VALID I.D.

Additionally, if someone in a UPS uniform comes to make a drop off or pick up, make absolutely sur! e they are driving a UPS truck. UPS doesn't make deliveries or pickups in anything, except a company vehicle. If you have a problem, call your local law enforcement agency right away!

TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY! Tell everyone in your office, your family, your friends, etc. Make people aware so that we can prepare and/or avoid terrorist attacks on our people! Thank you for your time in reviewing this and PLEASE send to EVERYONEon your list, even if they are friend or foe. We should all be aware!

The Kimberly Bush-Carr email was first sent out in 2003.

But like you said, better safe than sorry. Should always be vigilant regarding delivery/pick-up drivers whether it be USPS, FedEx or UPS

The Big Brown Truck is a dead give away.

The driver in my area is a regular and I have seen him all over this section of town and I know when he comes through my subdivision.

Once again, people, this comes down to SA. As you open the door (I know you looked through the peep sight first) do you notice the man in the brown uniform, whats on the uniform, the box, the vehicle he drove up in, the time of day, etc or do you just pull open the door and go "Yippie, a present for me."

First they have to get across the drawbridge and then get through the minefield!

I either have it delivered to work, or go pick it up at UPS.

Anytime you see something that has NOT been on the news and is on the internet Be Aware.

Also take and copy the first sentence paste it into a google search and bingo, 87 results, all explaining that this is a hoax.

FedEx rents plain commercial vans all the time. So does DHL. Not so much UPS.

It's Christmas - be kind - sign that damned doortag the first time it's left or go to the station and pick up your package.

Sir, as always, excellent advice, but there is one thing to consider......the time of year.

Being that we are now heading into the Christmas Season, UPS brings on extra drivers and personnel, and they're always NOT in a Brown Truck when making their deliveries.

UPS will rent out U-haul and Ryder vans/trucks to help with the deliveries, with two personnel on board. UPS and Fed-Ex, hires extra seasonal employees, around this time of year., and will make deliveries up to, I believe 10 pm local time.
