What am I doing wrong ?

Whenever I post a reply to a thread I am reading, I hit submit reply, & the window pops up that the message has been sent.

THEN, when I try to go back to reading the thread, I use my 'back' key and I get a 'warning page' and when I try to continue to go back to the thread, I end up being logged off of PS and have to log back in.

Obviously not a computer wiz here, but when my 'logical progression of the order of things' results in getting me logged off I am beginning to get really frustrated.

It must be a simple answer for all of you computer savvy folks. Can you spare a minute and set me straight on this ?

:( Roycroft 201 - who will probably log herself off again after send THIS post !!!lol)

After you "reply" to a post do not use the "back" button.

Simply hit the "Professional Soldiers" at the top left to return you to the "Main Page" Then go an view your post or other threads.

If you are having problems you can aways email

JD@professionalsoldiers.com

and you will soon get a reply.

Hope that helped.

Also, since it always takes you to your post on the bottom of the page, look down below your post on the left side for little window titled Forum Jump and click on go and it will take you back to that Forum's Main Page. If you want to go back and see who's online, or any other forum, select it from the dropdown and away you will go .

Take Care.

LOL - Team Sergeant.

And thank you, also, Ambush Master.

I really do appreciate it.

A brief story - years ago I was working on our computer and had some problems. At that time we had a Gateway. So, I called tech support at Gateway and explained the problem. The young man on the phone gave me some kind of technical answer and I said he would have to walk me thru all the steps he had just enumerated. Before we started I asked him if I any of these steps would affect info. I had on the computer. He said no, so I TRUSTED him (big mistake) and he started me on the fix it solution. At one point he said he was going to put me on hold, and if any window comes up on the screen just click yes and continue to click yes, and he would be right back.

He returned and I told him the various windows that popped up and how I had followed his instructions to continue.

To make a long story short - my ENTIRE MASTER'S THESIS had just been erased by the steps he had me follow !!!! And, NO, I hadn't backed up all the data I had entered in the few days prior to that evening. !!!(Thesis was due in a few weeks thereafter.)

To this day, I have mental block regarding anything even a teensy-weensy bit technical, and I no longer have any Gateway products.

We all have our strengths. Computer tech. is NOT one of mine !

Thanks again,

Didn't sound like you had a good time redoing your thesis...did you alter your thesis to have it include your thoughts on Gateway's Tech Support Guy and what you wanted to do to him?

Your story made me think of a guy that Team Sergeant may remember that he once worked with (Les J.). Les hated to type so much he had me build him a new computer (1999 or so timeframe) that could run a voice recording program. Long story short was that he used the program to write his entire thesis with only having to "train" the software twice...1st go around he liked to listen to the TV and other background noises and then learned that the program tried to match his accent with every TV actor's accent too :) 2nd go around "training" the program he finished "typing" the thesis in record time.
