Kerry said, "You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."
This worthless POS seems to drive me into a rage everytime he opens the hole under his nose. I wish somebody would leak his full military record to the press (which he refuses to relase). That would certainly make more entertaining reading than details of classified NSA programs.

Yup, all of us dumber than dirt, unmotivated, uneducated, lazy, non-studying QPs, the college grads that enlist, uh, huh - kerry's right, yessir - he knows everything. I have one one word for kerry - douchebag.

While the statement itself is ludicrous and false - Kerry wasn't much of a shining star student.
"Kerry, who graduated two years before Bush, got a cumulative 76 for his four years, according to a transcript that Kerry sent to the Navy when he was applying for officer training school. He received four D's in his freshman year out of 10 courses, but improved his average in later years."
"The transcript shows that Kerry's freshman-year average was 71. He scored a 61 in geology, a 63 and 68 in two history classes, and a 69 in political science. His top score was a 79, in another political science course. Another of his strongest efforts, a 77, came in French class."

It is interesting, though; of all the well-educated people I've met in my life, none have inspired or impressed me, intellectually or otherwise, more than those with military service.

I take this personal. My son made the most of his education and will wind up in Iraq or Afghanistan. He graduated with a BA in Communications with a minor in Finance. He was gainfully employed as a cop making $48,000 a year. He then volunteered to serve his country "as an enlisted man."
On the Laura Ingraham show today a father called in to say that his son-in-law has his Juris Doctorate from SMU and is currently an enlisted "Green Beret" deployed to unknown parts.
Just received an email from Firebeef today advising that his son has enlisted in the Army. I want John Kerry to tell Firebeef to his face that his son had no other choices! My money says Firebeef will finally deliver enough wounds to Kerry that he will legitimately qualify for a purple heart!

Who is he trying to appeal to with that statement? It is very incendiary.
Kerry keep on speaking for the DNC, your word just roll off so.
He is a POS, and I hate they way the News just takes this and makes it their story or spin. See this is just like everything else, the Big name media turn what they want into what they need to point out. Republicans just don't see what Sen. Kerry is trying to say about POTUS. CNN can kiss my ass, their reports all hit on the talking points for the DNC. Ass Monkeys!!

His academic record in these courses should enlighten everyone to his credibility.
He clearly did not know then, nor does he know now, either history [I]or[I] politics.
Apparently, hooking up with wealthy widowers, not a solid grasp of complex geo-political idea, is the path to Senatorial success.

I am sure some of you have the book"Unfit for Command", I think that's correct or maybe Unfit for Duty. Anyway it's a great book about what a POS Kerry is. It discusses what a liar, fabricator and in general POS that he really is. People he served with in VN, including Navy Admirals and CPTs down to the lowest rank all talk about Kerry like a red headed step child.
Comments from the previous posts were all on target in my opinion. The media likes to make headlines out of something that otherwise would be ignored. Kerry is a POS and I think that sums it all up.
My last assignment I worked with an E7, 18E, that was barely short of his masters in physics and was planning on pursuing his PHD until he liked what SF had to offer.
Ignorance can be overlooked. A lying, deceitful , liberal POS can not be.

I take this personal.
I fucking second that.
My oldest accelerated his courses and graduated high school early just so he could join up at 17.
He's now just 19, landed in Kuwait yesterday, and will be in Iraq in 3 weeks.
I have nothing but distain for kerry
The man disgusts me, I can't post the rest of my thoughts on him. And now it was a "botched joke" about the President and his people..."and he knows it". Huh? Jackass.

I listened to his "rebuttal" and found it to be even stupider than his original offensive statement. Nice job trying to blame it on the Whitehouse, meathead. I may so stupid that I have to go to Iraq, but I can certainly see through sKerry's BS.

Why are you being so hard on douchebags, Doc?

A cannibal was walking through the jungle and came upon a restaurant opened by a fellow cannibal.
Feeling hungry, he sat down and looked over the menu...
Broiled Missionary: $10.00
Fried Explorer: $15.00
Baked Politician: $100.00.
The cannibal called the waiter over and asked, "Why such a price difference for the politician?" The cook replied: "Have you ever tried to clean one?"

Some of the headlines on Drudge show the reaction:
AMERICAN LEGION: APOLOGIZE NOW...
Mother of son killed in Iraq urges Kerry to learn more about military...
Dem congressman tells ABCNEWS: 'I guess Kerry wasn't content blowing 2004, now he wants to blow 2006, too''...
Iowa candidate asks Kerry to cancel campaign visit...
Despite these, the Mainstream Media is peddling as hard as they can to put a positive (for Kerry) spin on it: he didn't mean what he said; it was Bush he was insulting; etc. Yeah, right.

GreenMtnTac,
I also take this personally ---- this from a man I believe was kicked out of the service.
This man has now crossed the line
I know there is someone out there who has access to, or copies of, the info that Kerry has yet to release from his service record.
I wish they could somehow find a way to get them out into the public domain --- .
SnT
Kerry has consistently refused to sign a Standard Form 180 authorizing the Department of Defense to release all of his records.
For his part, Kerry claims he received an "Honorable Discharge" and that all his records have been released and are posted on his website. But Kerry has refused to say when he received an Honorable Discharge. Indeed, some of his military records are posted on his site -- but not all of them.
Among Kerry's released records is a 1977 cover letter from Jimmy Carter's Navy Secretary, W. Graham Claytor. What is revealing about this document is that it notes Kerry's original discharge was subject to review by a "board of officers" -- yet no such review should be necessary for an Honorable Discharge. It has long been speculated that John Kerry was separated from the military under a less than honorable discharge.
The review was conducted in accordance with "Title 10, U.S. Code Section 1162 and 1163," which pertains to grounds for involuntary separation from military service. As many Vietnam veterans who served their nation with dignity and honor will recall, Jimmy Carter's first official act as president was the signing of Executive Order 4483 --less than an hour after his inauguration on 21 January 1977. EO 4483 provided general amnesty for draft evaders, war protesters and other offenders of that era. Its corresponding, and equally dubious, DoD directive took effect in March of 1977, expanding that amnesty to include separation from military service by other than honorable discharges. The DoD specified an appeal procedure whereby discharges could be reviewed on an individual basis to determine whether the status of a particular discharge could be revised.
Thus, while Kerry can correctly say -- thanks to Jimmy Carter -- that he received an Honorable Discharge, he could also say with equal precision that he received "other than honorable discharge." His activities as a leader of Vietnam Veterans Against the War were, indeed, forgiven by Carter's EO 4483 and the subsequent DoD directive.

I think you're missing the message... ;)
Kerry probably was joking, but only a bone head would think that was funny. Only an elite liberal asshole would construct a joke where the punch line is you get deployed to defend your country. It's illustrates the contempt they have for our service men and women and the families that support them, and shows the total alienation from the values of your average American. However, once in office they have no qualms about sending them in harms way. Their pitiful concern for our troops is a joke. It's form over substance.
Maybe global warming has affected Kerry's brain. Maybe before Kerry pulls his head out, Mr. Gore would like to climb up in there and investigate. He should be used to the view anyway. :D

"Kerry goes scarce on campaign trail
Right about now, Democrats don't want Sen. John Kerry's snakebit support. The senator's "botched joke" about bad students getting stuck in Iraq unleashed venomous GOP reaction. And Democrats in tight congressional races want the Massachusetts lawmaker off their stumps. "You just don't need something that might bring out extra people for the other side," a campaign official said."
You guys haven't blamed me yet, course the day's not over!:D

I find it amazing that democrats think this sort of approach to left wing politics is acceptable.
ted kennedy drunkenly murders (and runs away) a young woman only to become a United States Senator.
bill clinton receives blowjobs in the oval office while his nation is at war and he is rewarded with million dollar book deals.
kerry is a out an out liar, coward, protester and now insults the entire US military and continues to be backed by the democrats.
We are a miserable generation of Americans to allow this to go on. I only find it amazing because millions of Americans voted these individuals into public office, again, and again and again.
I find most "issues" molehills and not mountains. I understand the people’s right to express their opinions in all matters of government and to freely elect those that will be their voice in those matters. What I do not understand is what happened to those American politicians with integrity, honesty, and some semblance of moral fiber?
If this is the finest one side can offer to be their collective "voice" and that voice does in fact speak for the masses then what is transpiring in Iraq and the middle east is a molehill compared to what is happening in America today.

This whole episode is crazy. There is no "botched joke." There is nothing in the remark that suggests it is really about Bush or the Republican party. The comment's meaning is simple and unambiguous. It is a dig against America's combat troops.
But Kerry and the media are peddling The Emperor's New Clothes as hard as they can. Some of the comments by news commentators are nothing short of amazing. What's even more incredible is his stunning arrogance for not immediately apologizing.
The more this gets covered on the internet and on TV the more my jaw drops. Gonna have to pick it up off the floor any time now.

I do not know why anyone is really surprised about this. First he is a typical arrogant politician who will say anything for political gain. Second he has a track record with this starting with the Winter Soldier testitmony. Third he is John "F" Kerry. The "F" translates into "F"ifty -seven Varities which mean there are 57 varities of everything he has ever said. Just like the 57 Varities of Heinz products, the result after consumption is always crap.
