After a long trip to a country I will not name, I came back with a few interesting pieces of experience with the ABP power converter. This particular item works really well given an air conditioned enviroment, but when it comes to fans and 24hr comms in a hot enviroment, this piece of gear is worthless. We (company) blew a bunch of these items. I will say it is nice to have 24v and 12v conversion.
If you don't already know, I recommend a MRC-6 or MXF-100 for your wall power converter for your radio's that are compatible. Car batteries in series are a great way to run multiple radios to include most types. We ran a couple of satcom radios, 1 HF radio, and an FM radio for 52Hrs while we worked to restore power.

Are there any other tricks out there? If you are not comfortable discussing here than please PM me.

Take it easy.

Buy yourself about 20 deep cycle car batteries and hook them up with 0 guage wire in banks of 10. You can run two leads of 12V off the back with one 24 out the front. Pry the connectors out of some of the Lithiums that you've used(be very careful) and use that to jack into whatever mil standard radio you want. That should get you through a couple of months at least.
