Powerful.
The crowd sat completely through the credits.
Eastwood is really good behind the camera.

If the picture is anything like the book it should be one hell of a movie.

Nancy and I both loved the book, I am looking forward to seeing the movie!
I was looking forward to this movie for a long time, and it was even better than I could have hoped.

The book was excellent, I'm looking forward to seeing the movie. When I read the book I was on a Pacific theater kick, and read these:
James Bradley, "Flags of Our Father"
Hampton Sides, "Ghost Soldiers"
Gavin Daws, "Prisoners of the Japanese"
Iris Chang, "The Rape of Nanking"
William Manchester, "American Caesar"
They're all good reading, though "Flags" is special.

I saw this movie last night with my girlfriend. Outstanding and very well done.
Its rare a movie is as good as the book...you are either extremely disappointed most of the time or its got changes in the script...
The friggin movie only comes out in Malaysia in January! but knowing how the dvd pirates are, we will have the dvd out here before it even shows....
Still, would want to see it in the cinema and appreciate Eastwood's work and the story...it just isnt the same sometimes with some movies watching it at home..
