View Full Version : Marines Lock Down Fallujah in Search of Murderers
U.S. Marines lock down Fallujah (http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/04/05/iraq.main/index.html)
Hope they find they find them, but don't tell us they found them.
For some reason this came to mind and seems appropriate
"And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death. and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth" (Rev. 6:7-8).
It remains to be seen how this will turn out, but in the early stages it is taking on too much likeness of a police-type action for my taste.
If this is the carrot and the stick approach, IMO, one must wonder what they would have to do to ever see the stick. It's as if we offer them the carrot, they murder and mutilate four of our people, and we offer to make them carrot cake.
I like NDD's points the other day about being deliberate and dispassionate with your reactions, but I think we need to set a policy whereby our deliberate and dispassionate reaction is something more forceful than what we're seeing thusfar.
But, Operation Vigilant Resolve is young. I could be completely wrong.
