Who is your favorite author, or what is your favorite book, and why? Post more than one if necessary; it's normally a pretty tough choice.

Thanks,

I just ordered a bunch of them, on your prior recommendation. My favorite author right now is John Keegan. I just finished reading 'Intelligence in War', and have started 'The Face of War' both are great, giving massive amounts of information while maintaining an interesting storyline.

Anyone else?

Papa Hemingway - For Whom The Bell Tolls, but I like all his work.

Funny you mention Keegan. I'm reading his _The Price of Admiralty_ as we speak... four case studies of naval battles indicative of their eras: Trafalgar, Jutland, Midway, and Battle of the Atlantic. Interesting stuff, even for someone that doesn't care much about the Navy.

When it comes to military matters, I most prefer Keegan and Dunnigan, and then various folks down from there....

NDD- I always figured you for a Hemingway fan. My mother was named after the lead in For Whom The Bell Tolls.

FEMALE lead.
