Army recruits some 'Real Heroes' for popular video game
As a boy, Jerry Wolford loved G.I. Joe. Now the 39-year-old Army sergeant is going to become not only an action figure but also a character in the latest update of the U.S. Army's popular video game.
"America's Army: Special Forces Overmatch," a new version of the PC game launched four years ago, is available free at http://americasarmy.com. About 7.5 million registered online to play the older game.
In addition to being able to use new weapons and vehicles in the game's simulated counterterrorism missions, players will meet several "Real Heroes" who have fought in Afghanistan and Iraq, including Wolford.
