It's a marketing "tool":
Wenger poured 100 years of craftsmanship into their showpiece Giant Swiss Army Knife. This hand-assembled unique knife contains all 85 tools produced by Wenger at the time, which have a total of 110 functions. While it was developed primarily as a marketing exercise to generate buzz and serve as a show piece for trade shows and dealers, it’s also turned out to be popular among collectors, even at $1200 a pop.

The knife shown is a modern continuation of the "exhibition knife".
Large complex multi tooled and bladed knives have been produced in Europe since the late 1800's to show the craftsmanship of the manufacturer and draw attention to the product and the retail shop that was displaying the knife in the window.
Speaking of multi tooled folding knives, does anyone know the origin and name of this type that was the predecessor of the OSS Escape knife?
Here's a hint, the first folder that had a pliers in it.

You should not have posted that link - right to a sailing watch - you are evil, I just lost 20 minutes in the watch area, and never made it to the knives.
Bad, bad knifesmith, the same thing happened when I looked at your designs. You must be in league with the temporal thieves!!! But at least you have a saving grace, being an eco terrorist and all.

Be sure, no matter what you do, DO NOT Google "Suunto" and look up the sailing and Mariners watches there.
They come with about a 450 page instruction book and can download information onto your computer too. :D

I love that it has BOTH a 300 ft range laser pointer AND a telescopic pointer (just in case the battery dies). I would get a kick out of seeing the bloated beast, though.

Already own a Suunto, and the instruction manual is essentially unreadable.
they don't call them watches, they are Sailing chronometers and race computers... mine even has an electronic compass.
