Man lived to 112 on sausage-and-waffles diet

OH YEAH !!!!!!

Pass the syrup. :D

I wonder what the record is for the "Pizza and Beer" diet?
So far I'm pushing 40 and feeling fine.

Waffle House has no equal around 3 a.m. under the influence of a few too many 12 oz. curls!! Whataburger will do in a pinch, but it's hard to beat an All Star Special when one needs a serious injection of colesterol into the bloodstream. :D

I know of 3, in the Denver metro area and one down in the Springs, and I think I remember seeing one, in or around Pueblo.

What, no "leggo my eggo" jokes? Got a few IHOP's around here I suppose I should begin to frequent.

Pity they never had any offspring. With genes like that we really could have "Methusela's Children". :munchin

On my dads side of the family my grandfather and his brothers all lived to be around 70 +/-. They ate everything fried and jowl bacon was a staple for breakfast. Needless to say they all had bad tickers and high cholesterol.

On my moms side of the family the diet was pretty much the same. However my grandfather recently passed at 90, his older sister 99 and my great aunt Opal is still kicking at 97. Opal by the way has a mind like a steel trap and can remember damn near anything like it was yesterday.

I dont know which side I take after I am just going to try to enjoy the journey. :munchin

But we do have IHOP.

It's NOT the same. :(

IHOP's are nothing more than a restaurant.

WAFFLE HOUSE's are....an experience. :D

Waffle House - the eatery of choice for long roadtrips - always open, and you always know how it's going to taste.

....and after 17 hours on the road MAN does it taste good!

Goggles-
After 12- 17 hrs on the road, cardboard tastes good if chased with copius amounts of coffee...

Generally at the end of a road trip of 10-12 hrs, I'm at my folks, or brother's (no need for a Waffle House at either) - all I have to do is make sure I fill up the fuel tank, then I top off my tank with home cooking.

Just isn't the same! No Waffle Houses around here, then again I don't go out drinking until 0300 either. Much.

Salt and pepper on your cardboard? :D

yes to the salt and pepper, no ketchup, extra hashbrowns, CRISPY bacon (Waffle House sometimes has a problem getting the bacon edibly crunchy, slimy bacon, not my fave). although instead of the cardboard, 2 eggs and 2 waffles with butter and syrup. BURP!!!! 'scuse me.

You're excused. :p

I've noticed that about WH, re the bacon. Make sure to ask for the hash browns to be prepared with onion and green pepper. Yum!
