13-year-old author, Samantha Joyce, of Fayetteville, NC is pleased with the end result of a book written by her and published and edited by her mother, a teacher for children with special needs. Her 9-year- old sister, Elise, also participated in the book project by drawing her own renditions of the Author (sister), Co-writer/ Editor (mother) and friend-of-the-family- illustrator, Debra Moore of Old Town, FL.
“We wanted to do something together as a family,” states Samantha. “My father is in the Army and a few years back brought home a dog he had used during the war. Everyone said that it would make a wonderful story so I wrote about it with the help of my family and it just took off.”
