I picked up a copy of In Search of the Warrior Spirit "Teaching Awareness Disciplines to the GREEN BERETS" a few weeks ago. It is by Richard Strozzi-Heckler. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1556431163/002-4874951-5413659?v=glance&n=283155

I was wondering if any of the QP's had read the book, or better yet, been a part of the program? Simply, it was an interesting read, and I was wondering if this book, and the results of the Trojan Warrior Project, are as true as reported.

I hope I am not stepping out of line, but after reading Inside Delta Force and then finding out from this board and others that it is mostly fictionalized, I am not sure what to take as the truth. Any help is appreciated, as I am trying to learn.

CJ,

I enjoyed this book and have recommended it to several people.

However, a man I met that worked at the Air Force survival school near hear, who said he was an ex-SF soldier, and I talked about the book. He was not impressed, he felt that of several 'similar' training programs he participated in none were as useful as the task specific training.

In the book, a large fraction of those who did participate felt as this man did.

I personally took many valuable ideas from the book. The discussion about how self awareness improved the performance of many of the soldiers in unexpected ways has improved my relationship to my wife, and improved my emotional balance with those who hold views different than mine.

I hope a QP who participated in this study wil have an opportunity to comment.
