Foxnews is reporting a massive 8.1 quake in the South Pacific near Tonga, could be a tsunami event associated with it, potentially due to hit Fiji, New Zealand, etc.

It should have hit NZ about 13 minutes ago..

It didnt.
Was a farce.
Nothing happened.
Although now there is going to be a rather large enquiry as to why NZ Civil Defence stayed in bed and took no notice of the warning.
Apparently the first thing our Govt knew about it was when a TV station phoned them and asked for comment...
Geesshh. Luckily, the Tsunami never made it very far.

Yeah we got something about it over the radio here on Oahu this morning, but all they said is go to the beach quick, goodd waves for surfing .....
It was supposed to hit Gisbourne, IIRC>
No big loss :p
