I like this one. This site at its best, I think. Or at least doing some good in the world.

I know the pics aren't even up yet, but there are so many funny lines flying back and forth in the flurry regarding Oregon.

I think the Knife Steels-Material Science thread is a great application of engineering knowledge to real world situations, and just nice background info on the science behind some of our tools :)

I have to second the nomination by Maytime. I may be a bit biased, but I think Bill has a great start to a book with this one. "Knife Steel and Metallurgy... The Logger Way" would make a great title. :lifter

Well, there are certain old threads i would like to nominate again(training the mind especially) - But i personally enjoyed the thread on avian influenza alot.

Outside of being a great source of hands on knowledge, it inspired me to learn alot about influenza and other deseases, which again evolved into a 3 week learning spree on anything related to pandemics.

I know this started out as a serious topic, but it has been transformed ( Thank you x_sf_med !) into one of the most hilarious threads I've seen on PS.com.

Roycroft -

Thank you!

I thought it was going to be a short one line plagarism from Warren Zevon's song "Send lawyers, Guns and Money" as a response to RL, it just kinda blossomed from there - I'll accept initial blame - but everybody else went off their meds too....:D
