I just could belive the AVAS were blowing a 3-0 of the first-period lead, Secpond-period was all Stars. But Brett Clark scored a short-handed goal with in the third period. Then Joe takes it in OT. Just got to love that.. The Odds are on the AVAS side as we come home for WED.:lifter

LOL! I hate the Ducks even more than I hate the Avs.
I don't have any problems with the Ducks except they always seem to get a hot goalie going into the playoffs(see Giguere, JS). I can't wait for the Sabres to finish off the Sens and the Canes to finish of the Devils. Those are my least two favorite teams other then the Habs.

The series is now 3-2, 'Canes but we'll have the home ice advantage for Game 6.

This will be a good Stanley Cup!!

I finally watched game one on TiVo last night. It is amazing how many Cup-winning players are on the Carolina team. And how about that hit by Commodore?!
Commodore is great... he played for the local AHL team for a few seasons he was a fan favorite. One of my friend's older brother is on Carolina too but he hasn't suited up yet, Keith Aucoin. I remember playing pond hockey with him when I was younger.

Geez, I have missed this thread completely. I was born and raised in Buffalo and I am used to getting there and and blowing the big game (i.e. 3 superbowls in a row in the early 90's or was it four, the loss a few years back to the Dallas Stars on a controversial goal, etc, etc) If your from Buffalo you know what I'm talking about. Don't sweat it Canes fans, one bad pass in a series does not doom you (unless your the Flyers...:rolleyes: ). Whitney could have won it in regulation and I can't believe he overshot! Pressure is on the Oilers in their own building. Canes win it away.
That was some of the worst skating I've seem, College work. Monday nights games was some great skating and hitting (Oiler side) along with it being high tempo.
Man CANES never got into the game. Everyone thought, it will be done in the 2nd period, no the CANES are a great 3rd period team. NOT NOT NOT.
I don't know what happen, but they should have taking the CUP at Home. I guess Oilers hurting players like Ward and then Wieght, made the CANES start to break down. WHY?? They need to find out why.
Then you had Staal get two goal, I thought he was going to have a hat trick last nite. Man that would have been great, but NOT. I blame Staal for the turnover that cost the Canes a chance to parade the Cup in front of their home fans. What kind of pass was that, my wife can pass better than that, he was tired. Thats what the CANES were, Tried from the start of the Game.
Oiler looked great till the very end, great game on their part. They were hitting ten times better and harder, and making them count. Canes never returned any GREAT hits back - well 2 or 3. Hell, Oilers sent two of the CANES' key players to the locker room during the game. That some hitting. Oiler's silenced and in shock the 19,000 crowd, it wasn't the typical RBC center last night. Did you hear that pin drop?
Let see what two days off will do for both teams legs, Oilers looked great last nite. They will just get better, CANES need some time off from the way they were skating.

GAME 7s IN THE STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS ROCK !!!!!
OILERS are playing to take the CUPfrom the CANES!! CANES are not playing to win- Go back home to Raleigh NC and get ready for next season. Oilers are playing to WIN.
CANES couldn't get their game going, OILERs are hitting and skating like Campions!! Edmonton's Jussi Markkanen stopped 16 shots to lead the Oilers to a 4-0 win victory over the CANES. Cam Ward stopped 30 shots for Carolina in defeat, while the OILERs out SHOT, PLAYED, HIT, and had won more Face offs. Wait the OILERs are a number what seed?? One good thing to see from the CANES was their winger Erik Cole returned to the lineup after missing 44 games with his fractured vertebra. Wonder why that was, maybe that Wieght couldn't play. Need that moral help out and support. CANES should have put Wieght onto the line up and he should have suited up for the support of his team. On Wedensady night when he can back out during the 3rd period, you could see the CANES playing and hitting better. Yes, one man can change a team.
OILERs need to play the way they have been. Some Great Skating from their end. You just can't stop their hitting and skating if the CANES play the way the have been.
CANES - Need to get their heads back into the Game - do some hitting lets see what you got for the OILERS. Do some of your killer POWER Play KILLER skating. WADE you just keep on being the MAN tonight!!

STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS parade and celebration will be today at 5 P.M. to honor the 2006 Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes. Its at the RBC Center and parking lots will open at 4 p.m. and festivities will begin at 5 p.m.
CANES FANs had to be the 7th Man on the ICE last night - Hats off to Carolina and their Fans. Hokey is finial here just like they said when the STARs won their Cup.
